He has not had a chance to develop in college, but if I'm not mistaken, I believe Arch had the highest rating a QB can have in HS. Texas fans might be able to verify that.

Anytime Arch played a team with a pulse he was awful.

Here is an example:

8 21 96 Lost 13-49

8 20 90 Lost

7 15 121 Lost

The strength of Arch is certainly not his arm. He is a one dimensional qb. I’m sure he will look great against Mississippi State

I never understood his decision to go to Texas when they already had Ewers. It must have been the money. I know his family is rich, but he isn't.

I am thinking more along the line that we will see what TX has with Manning more than whether a win is that important or not. OSU might not have the same D line from last season but it should still be a huge test playing up there.

Yeah, you know they have players. Their linebackers are elite, and Caleb Downs is one of my favorite players in college football right now.

I have no idea how Mike Patricia is going to do as a DC at the college level. I feel like losing Jim Knowles may be a bigger deal than anyone is thinking right now. But just a big unknown regardless.

But OSU is OSU. The most consistent program since WWII, and no one else is even close.

Yeah I don’t think any of the Mannings want for money. I’m sure Archie has Cooper set up long ago

Is he going to be any good

I am sure he throws laser-accurate balls in practice and he has played at the collegiate level (61-90 for 938 yards, 9 TD's w/ 2 INT's).

We'll all get a look at him early on so let him play and if he's got it going on good for him and if not, Texas is screwed.

Last year he played only in garbage games and mop up time.

Arch is going to be a gigantic flop. He will be exposed week 1.

I would say Chris Simms received similar hype. His dad was also an NFL qb and then a broadcaster.

Probably not to the level of Arch though, due to media being what it is today versus 20-25 years ago.

Arch has a good head on his shoulder though so hopefully can handle it. All helps that he’s been on campus for a couple of years and has even started a couple of games.

Applewhite didn’t have a chance in hell to keep that job vs the media’s Golden Boy in Simms

I’ve never agreed with losing a job due to injury. Applewhite was injured and Mack Brown used it to name Golden Boy the starter, who kept the job after Applewhite came back. That is until the bowl game vs Washington when I think Simms had 4 picks and Applewhite almost brought them back. Anyway I hated how Mack Brown managed that situation.

I think manning is the most hyped kid ever.
I remember a few others like
Brock Berlin UF/miami
Jimmy clausen ND
Tebow, Matt Barkley, Trevor Lawrence

Cooper makes some money for himself as well.

As some broadcasters said if he was so good last year why did Sark stay with Ewer?
Seems like a good kid just has to now prove it on the field. Wish him well he has a lot of talent around him now it’s time to show what you can do.

Totally agree with this. It's not Texas putting him on the skyline. I think they're excited about what could be but who wouldn't be?

National media does not watch 99% of all games out there, they regurgitate what they hear from other talking heads and I'd swear they just consult ChatGPT to write their articles.

MSM is just going to parrot BS.

One of those is not like the others. As for college play, the others certainly lived up to the hype.
