It is a game of what could have been.

LSU would have had the greatest college football coach, and about 2 to 3 times more NCs.

We would not be any different if the roles were reversed.

Spurrier leaving us when he did and how he did kinda fricked us up more in the head.

Has a HC ever falling in the lap of a CFB Program ever saved a flailing program more than Bama?

You would feel the same way if the situation was reversed and you know it, Funny thing is that LSU had to show Alabama that Saban was a good coach. Alabama was hiring Shula, Price, and Franchione.

LSU hates every coach that leaves their program.
Even lovable Les.

LSU last Championship came in 1958 prior to Saban.

He left but came back in the same division . Without Satan going to Bama when he did Les might of had two more championships in his pocket.

Nah, Les was lucky to get that one NC with two losses. Everyone else just out-lost him that year.

I contend it wasn’t Saban leaving that haunts LSU. I remember it well... it was returning to Alabama. Had he gone anywhere else it might not have been so fatal.
This is correct, plus the fact that he goes back to BR and kicks their arse over and over and over and........

Yet, your mulligan and Iowa State winning is totally ok.

OK.

He didn't "fall into our lap" after us offering another Coach.

I think you are correct, but the same goes for Smart at Georgia. The SEC has produced some great teams during the Saban era, but they can't get past Alabama

There is another thing...a sick strain of blind homerism. Look at what the LUSer fans on here do to any Louisiana native that chooses to go out of state. Alabama loses a recruit, we move on. LSU? OMG - traitor for life.

I really can't even think of any major 4 or 5-star recruits from Bama that had offers from boths schools and chose LSU instead, but I know one in basketball, and I have never heard a player booed like Bama fans have booed Trendon Watford (who isn't even a superstar) for two straight years every single time he has touched the ball when playing at Bama. They even chanted "traitor" when he was at the free throw line last year. And that is in basketball which Bama fans aren't nearly as passionate about. They haven't moved on.

Bama always has another 4 or 5-star ready to go there in football for the seldom times when they don't get a major target.

Alabama was on sanctions, it would have fixed itself after sanctions.

That being said, Mal Moore did brilliantly getting Coach Saban to Alabama in 2007. Most people thought Coach Saban would be gone after 5 years, but here we are 14 years and 6 NC later, and he is still coaching Alabama.

Here is to another 14 years.....

LSU discovered Nick Saban

And Nick Saban discovered LSU

bama did not discover Nick Saban

Nick Saban did not discover bama

Nick Saban QUIT at Miami

Nick Saban QUIT at Miami because he failed and knew he could not succeed in The Big Boy NFL.

So he is now dominating in the minor leagues to the NFL.
(And doing so by cheating and mulligans and *)

How does 1 guy winning a national championship and 1 guy keeping a program relevant cause damage to the psyche of a fan base? Find other examples these don’t really work.
