Fair point...but as an LSU fan, I saw us become the best team in the country in 2007 and we lost to Kentucky.
so it's hard for me to rail them too hard for the one loss. Regardless, I'm of the mindset that people should look at the whole body of work and not necessarily one or two or three games.
Excellent point, we lost twice in OT that year, and when rested, LSU was clearly the best

What these redneck douche bags fail to realize, is that if bama won 9-6 they would not even consider a rematch with LSU. Even with the BCS standings today being the same, they would not want to play LSU again, you can take that to the bank!!
and your "redneck douche bags" would be saying the same thing as our rdb's.....

So does failure to win your division.
Failure to win your conference.
Having already lost to the other team, AT HOME earlier in the year.
So losing by 3 at home, in OT to the #1 team in the country = losing in OT at home to an unranked 6-5 team.
Gotcha. I'll just refer to y'all as the Iowa State tigers from now on.

what is more important, who has the worst loss or who has the best wins?
it is really fun to see the spin from different fanbases. Bama fans preach of their 1 loss to the number 1 team, but who have you beaten that is really worth a shite? OSU has way more quality wins and to me the fg was good against Iowa State.
I don't really care who we play in the NCG, Les and the Tigers will roll.

So if we haven't played anybody and you only beat us by 3 in OT, on a questionable call (which I wasn't gonna bring up but since you threw in the FG from the OSU loss to Iowa state there you go) then...what does that say about how good LSU is?

09/03/11 vs. Louisiana Stillwater, OK W, 61-34
09/08/11 vs. Arizona Stillwater, OK W, 37-14
09/17/11 at Tulsa Tulsa, OK W, 59-33
09/24/11 at Texas A&M College Station, TX W, 30-29
10/08/11 vs. Kansas Stillwater, OK W, 70-28
10/15/11 at Texas Austin, TX W, 38-26
10/22/11 at Missouri Columbia, MO W, 45-24
10/29/11 vs. Baylor Stillwater, OK W, 59-24
11/05/11 vs. Kansas State Stillwater, OK W, 52-45
11/12/11 at Texas Tech Lubbock, TX W, 66-6
That's impressive? Really? Their best win is to Baylor? Color me unimpressed.

Most of us simply feel that it's very unfair to LSU to allow Alabama, a rival of ours, yet another opportunity to beat us
So you don't want to play the #2 team in the country for all of the marbles? I'm sure Alabama would have selected someone easier to play rather than Texas. I'm sure AU would have chosen to play someone easier that Oregon. I can see the anxiety all of you LSU fans have about having to play Bama again. You are so close to being the 3rd team in a row from the West side of the SEC to go undefeated and win the BCSNC. But there is only one obstacle. That is the only team, that if you reach way down deep inside, know that can ruin it all for y'all. I guess if I was in your shoes I would feel the same way. But looking at this LSU team and the greatness it could achieve in beating your arch rival twice in the same year to win it all. Some of you need to take on the mantra of your coach. I have a much greater respect for him than some of you fans whining on here about who is more deserving. Ask him and I bet he'll tell you, he wants to play Bama!!

And it's funny to see LSU fans rail on and on how Alabama (who is a consensus #2 among the voters right now) should be summarily dismissed after being a firm #2 in the polls for 2 consecutive weeks all because of some idealisitic arbitrary idea that "another team should get their chance at LSU". Forget who may actually be the #2 team among Alabama, Oklahoma State, Va Tech, Stanford, or Houston, let's base it all on who hasn't gotten a shot at LSU yet. Yeah, that's fair.

What questionable call? The one your own coach said the correct call was made?

They haven't played anyone ranked in the top 10. Bama's played 2. Every team they've beat has at least two losses. Baylor? Texas? Missouri? Those teams wouldn't know what a defense was if someone gave them one.
Posted on 11/30/11 at 4:30 pm to JPLSU1981
Hey, it was as questionable as the FG call you're saying was wrong.

Pathetic.

yea, that guy might vote for Okie State, but that ship has sailed. If they were going to make up ground it would have been last week. Alabama actually gained ground, or I guess distanced themselves.
I guess IF Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma 41-6 it could get interesting, but ..

DEAL WITH IT.

If Okie State beats OU, Kansas State jumps up.
Besides, why limit the wins to top 10? Why not go top 20? Top 40? I know the answers, but I'd like to hear it from someone else.
