The difference is the Big is fresh coming into the playoff, while the SEC is beat to hell. Caleb Downs recently made it clear the difference between playing a Big schedule and an SEC schedule. The SEC is clearly still the best, most dominant conference. However, we beat the hell out of each other week in and week out. The Big Ten plays scrubs other than three games a year at most. The difference is drastic. Winning the SEC is still the most difficult thing to do in college sports.
I'm surprised that interview didn't get more traction than it did. He basically point blank said the SEC schedules were harder than the Big 10 schedules and didn't even hesitate to answer it. I'm sure the Big 10 folks didn't like him saying that. LOL!

This isn't true at all and an incredibly naive way to view this.
The Big10 is actually weak but for a few top teams right now. BUT, they now have a very large geographic footprint. They are being propped up by the media as "better than the SEC" because they have a vested interest in this.
Moreover, the SEC completely beats the sheet out of itself, with multiple loses, while a few Big10 teams have one to three major games a season. This can't continue. There is no room for error in the SEC, no weeks off. Big10, BigXII you can have a shitty week, and still pull off a win.
Dude, this is about major money. It has little to do with the teams on the field.

Mich. was behind Bama by 7 late and win in OT. 2 Years ago, The SEC was about discipline and coaching up players, now that they have allowed chaos to come in that takes away our biggest edge, all the teams are worse imho, and the Big 10 thus has now close to the same level for a few reason, they can pay players, and each school has only so much money s UGA and Bama can get every great player and we can have 3 deep because just like Sayin the will bribe a player to leave. OSU has not gotten better, the NCAA allowed CHAOS to destroy a great disciplined team who has continuity with their BS rules. The Judges help them get there, they did not have to accept it, but I think the NCAA wanted this they wanted the BATHROOM BILL i North Carolina defeated remember? They are libs.
Lib lawyers know how to JUDGE SHOP, we found that out via how the ACLU files suits on Sat. when only one Judge is on duty, so they know who will try a case instead of it being assigned. IMHO, those judges were bought and paid for. All the NCAA had to do was say, we will quit giving out any scholarship to anyone, you pay your own way, in 5 minutes those lib lawyers would have been pressured to drop their bs lawsuits by black orgs nationwide. As per the transfer rules, an appeal would have defeated that ruling in court, the NCAA is a private org. and can set their own rule, BUT by stupidly agreeing to a 5000 per year dividend, they opened themselves up to work rules, I can change jobs when ever I so choose, and so can a man making 5k a year. All this was calculated by evil lib lawyers.

How can you say Georgia doesn't look elite? And the sec got the most teams into the playoff. And 2 current playoff coaches are leaving their team for an SEC team.
Posted on 12/8/25 at 12:58 pm to homemadeshine
Why because the SEC beat the shite out of each other?

The sec had a huge gap on other conferences pre portal due to concentration of talent in the south and pre agent under table negotiations(the south valued football more than any other region so in a blind bid they always payed more bc other schools didn’t have the opportunity to counter offer). So when parity struck of course the sec would be the most effected, the sec the had the most valuable depth(majority of poached players). The sec is still the toughest conference, but it was also the conference most affected.

I'm sure they didn't appreciate it.

They don't play based upon draft position.
They DO play based on rest, scheduling, depth etc. Aka my entire point that you ignored
Comparing based on the draft removes that variable & gives a more accurate comparison of who has the better players. It's not like the Big 10 has better coaches either & you know it

Ohio State is now playing at a level comparable to some of the SEC dominant teams of the past and Indiana is showing it's more than just a one-night stand
It's a function of their schedule and not really having to play the opponents the SEC does in conference. Did you see tOSU vs Texas? Wasn't exactly the game of the year.

Ohio State beat the 7th best SEC team by one score.

And Alabama lost to unranked 5-7 FSU by 14 points but would later beat #5 Georgia on the road.

Listen, I'm a huge LSU fan and I pull for the SEC, but you have to face reality when the facts are right there in front of you.
The Big 10 has won the last two NCs and they are going to win one again this year. Reading all your comments about how many SEC teams are this and that and the Big 10 is weak overall, just screams desperation.
The SEC is about winning NCs, period! So the next time a Big 10 fan starts boasting about winning the last 2 (soon to be 3) NCs, I guess your argument will be, "Well, we have more teams ranked!"
That's weak! The reality is one day the SEC will return to being the dominate conference and will have NCs to show for it, but right now, you have to give credit to the Big 10 because they are clearly the best conference in college. Period!
It's time to put your big boy pants on and give credit, where credit is due.

This is what happens when you expand the playoffs. Trolls with weak sauce come out of the woodworks.

There is an anti-SEC bias out there. Prop
up other conferences and tear down the SEC
up other conferences and tear down the SEC

Stankey negotiated a terrible TV contract and BIG has a lot more money.
I posted a long time ago that this newTV contract paying out a lot less money than BIG gets would be a disaster. Response on this board was "but we're SEC!".
Money talks and Stankey deserves to be fired.
