Hard/Easy Pod Model

Thinking this is the setup ESPN/Sankey will want.
Makes perfect sense for their purposes. $$$
9-Game Pod Schedule
Pod A (Hard)
LSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas
Pod B (Easy)
Missouri, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State
Pod C (Hard)
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Auburn
Pod D (Easy)
Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
*Top 8 SEC football teams have it a little harder than the rest. Meat grinder of a schedule annually.
*Easy pods would see some combo of these teams.
Pod A
LSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas
Pod C
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Auburn
* Pods need to be equal only in quality, not balanced. Hence two strong pods and two weak pods.
Everyone still plays a 9-game SEC schedule.
* Top 8 football teams will play 5 juggernaut games, the rest would play just 4.
Bottom line, the two highest ranked teams go to Atlanta (best record/head to head/committee selection, etc.) to play for the SEC Championship.
Easy "yes" for these teams: Missouri, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.

How much do we have to pay to get in this one?

No divisions. top 2 winning percentage teams get to CCG (tiebreakers based on head-to-head and rankings).
3 or 4 permanent opponents and 6 or 7 rotating conference opponents in a combination that totals 10 conference games.

Screw this pod stuff. Unless the SEC adds a few more teams. There just ain’t enough teams to make the pods equal.

I'd love it, but I don't think it will happen, I just don't think they will put LSU, Texas A&M and OU in the same pod. My guess is OU, Texas, Misery, and Arky. LSU, OM, MSU, TAMU, and then C and D like you said.

No way the SEC does this to themselves.

LSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas
Nor this one.
More likely:
Florida, LSU, Kentucky, Mississippi State.
Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Missouri.
Alabama, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Ole Miss.
Texas A&M, Texas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt.

I like the OP’s pods. Play 8 conference games then for games 9 and 10, the pod winners will have a playoff while everyone else plays a regular conference game. That way, everyone finishes with 10 conference games but the CCG is in week 10.

Feel free to tell us who you think belong in each.
I'm also guessing the "weak pods" will love the"strong pods" beating each other up instead of them.

I have a plan where you have PERMS & PODS! Thereby allowing each school to keep 6 "must play" games every year.
Your idea requires tie-breakers to be created to sort teams with non-common opponents.

WTF?
What happens to the 2 teams who LOSE in game 9 while the rest of y'all get to continue to rotate with the conference? Which your "pod winners playoff" prohibits them to.

Not gonna happen. Bama will play Ut every year and aubie will get Florida back as they have begged for for years. Historical rivalries are to be protected and held sacred as LSU fans have pointed out this week (funny how that opinion changed with this expansion)
Only divisions allow that. Now if further expansion happens, which probably will, u will need an nfl model and pods will happen with an nfl type playoff scenario amount the 3 conferences. Eventually college ball will be a 20 game season for the national champs.
