re: Gus Malzahn was a pathetic head coach

Malzahn could have been an elite coach had it not been for the constant backstabbing of the Auburn boosters and athletic department.
Hard to recruit elected talent when every program in the SEC is telling to he recruits, “Gus won’t let another 6 months.”
Really is a shame how badly y’all undercut a good man like that.

Malzahn can scheme ok, but can’t develop players worth a shite.

I said HEAD COACH. He sucked as an offensive coordinator. And maybe that was a fault as a head coach, but he did a pretty good job with our program as a whole.

Have Bama fans given you internet high fives yet for your incessant Auburn posting?

Maybe, maybe not. But OP is right in that 0-13 against Bama, LSU, UGA on the road is unacceptable for ANY coach at AU. No coach has had that terrible of a record against those teams, at least since the 70's.
I like Gus as a person, but he knows this bidness. If you don't win, you are out, especially in the SEC.
EDIT: Let me say that OP's phrasing is hyperbole. Gus was not "pathetic" as a HC. He just simply didn't get it done against our rivals.

2017 - weren’t like half of bama’s impact players on defense out?
2019 - Tua was out
I think his point is that Auburn fans have been saying Malzahn is good and had Alabama's number.

Gus micro managed his OC. When they did well (2017) he made Chip change the offense in 2018. He hires Chad Morris and they tweaked the offense some, but we were worse.
His blocking schemes made recruiting for Olinemen impossible.
It was time for Gus to go
The fans were frustrated.

Tommy Tuberville is a good comparison

I don’t need validation from bama fans to know that auburn fans are the fricking worst.

Bama's entire linebacking corps was decimated with injuries that year. A few key guys came back for the Iron Bowl but they were far from 100%.

Yep. That was his downfall. Somebody put an article out last week that confirmed that. He refused to do anything in the offseason to try and evolve or learn anything new.
Which is why the last few years had to be so frustrating for you folks. It would not have required earth shattering changes to salvage the situation.

Two of those wins were against bama teams riddled with injuries. That’s how.
Yet y’all kept giving him raises and extensions for beating injury plagued Alabama teams.

Your existence literally exists to get attaboys from Bama fans. It's gross.
At least daddy made the CFP?

Why does no one mention he never sniffed the playoffs?
I know you specifically said the playoffs, but losing the BCS title game in the final seconds is the same thing.

Exactly the first thought I had when I read that. Now all that's left is L1U to admit it.

Are you 2 years old?
I see statements like his and these always tell me who’s only been following college football for the last 10 years or so. It amazes me how many of these younger so-called “fans” know absolutely nothing about the history of the SEC and think the way things are today is just the way they’ve always been.

Lol expectations are a little lofty. As long as Alabama is Alabama, Auburn will never sniff the playoff.
We were a shitty half away from the playoff in 2017 and it had nothing at all to do with Alabama

Where that's handy little SEC championship title count? Bama being light years ahead has ALWAYS been the way things are, aside from small patches of awfulness.
We have more SEC titles than 2nd and 3rd COMBINED.
And you're not 2nd or 3rd.
