Here you go blzr. Just what do you think about Gus?

In all fairness, that was actually SIX weeks ago, but, ya know.

The irony.

It feels good to be indifferent about Gus right now.

He is melting, but it does present a legitimate question. Would Auburn fans be happy with seeing Malzhan get top tier money to stay if it meant he'd get 8 or 9 wins most of the time and only really make some noise every 3 or 4 seasons?

And if this is the first solid defense he's had in his 5th year as a coach, is that not kind of the exception to the norm for Gus?

Our defenses have sucked for the most part under Gus. Muschamp and Steele have had an impact:

2013- 12th in SEC
2014- 9th
2015- 13th
2016- 5th
2017- 4th

He's had 5 straight years of top 10 recruiting classes as well. I guess one unfortunate thing is we're likely going to have to pay top dollar for a DC while Gus is here.

He’s made two SEC Championship games in 5 years. Redo your math.

Some of y'all need to revisit your thoughts on Gus from the beginning of the season.

You mean before he beat our two biggest rivals by double digits while both were #1 in the country? Don’t be a moron.

Perhaps Gus should have waited until Sunday to float this ...

Yea, lay an egg on Saturday and this is not going to age well.

But, part of "Good Gus" is he's swaggy and big balled, right?

The ignorance of this statement is teams are paying top dollar for December 28 bowl games year in and year out. I realize a large part of our fanbase wanted Gus gone or at least a vocal minority. They were wrong, most football minds could see that...Gus needed the last few weeks to show everyone what anyone who knows football could already see. He is a good coach. He isn't perfect, but he is good. When he has a QB he looks like a great coach.

Those stupid sobs in the AU ATH Dept better not consider giving him a single additional dime until 8:00 pm Saturday night.

His greatest point of leverage is right now - today and tomorrow.

If AU wins, then they know he's not leaving and some leverage is lessened. If AU loses, he has a real possibility to leave, but some money people don't care if he does at that point.

I know his ask is for $6M+, but he's also asking for some relief as in get some of these people off my back (looking at Ray Harbert here).

A win every 3-4 years against Bama gets you a raise and contract extension at Auburn

So your two biggest rivals only mattered this year when you won? So you are okay going another 3 years before you do it again?

The entire SEC East would beg for those results. I am all for keeping Gus. He has had growing pains, but at least he is learning from them.

Yes, because history always repeats itself the exact same way.

You really need to stop. You have shown your ignorance plenty in this thread.
