I'm pretty angry/upset/disappointed.

Nah, Bama as a team & coaching staff need a good wake up shot to the teeth once in a while. Auburn gave them that.

I'm more interested to see how they respond to the loss than angry that they lost, regardless of whether they make it into the CFP.

I also realize we can't win every game and Auburn is good and playing incredibly well right now. Still stings.

The way we played pisses me off a lot more than just losing the game. It was a pretty fvckin pathetic performance.

I hope he signs this before losing to Georgia on Saturday when fans will call for his termination.

This was my thought all throughout the year after LSU and Clemson Losses, Malzahn can't lose another SEC Regular season game to remain head coach. He didn't so he should remain the head coach. Plus there is not much of anything left to replace him.

My only hope if he does get the increased contract/salary is that he doesn't fall asleep and take it easy again for mediocre seasons. He has to continue to improve and not micromanage the OC ever again.

I wasn't as mad as I would have been if I hadn't already resigned to the fact we were probably going to lose to y'all after what I saw in the Miss. State game. I knew if State could run the ball on us like they did then y'all would have the same success. And add a qb playing at a high level and we were in trouble.

So believe it or not, I may be rooting for y'all to beat Georgia. A loss to the #2 SEC champ looks better for us to the committee than #6 runner-up.

Haha Malzahn faking interest in Arkansas job for a raise. I almost can't even say that without laughing.

"...sources told FootballScoop..."

...it's our understanding..."

Solid sourcing there.

But what does the night manager at the Auburn Waffle House say?

If the linesman stops the clock when the LSU wide receiver goes out of bounds with an auburn defender having a limp wristed hand barely touching him, LSU beats Auburn last year.

The linesman screwed LSU because the linesman kept the clock running, which would have been fine if the auburn defender used his shoulder pads to hit the lsu wide receiver out of bounds.

But it didn't stop LSU from getting 8 wins last year so the linesman can live in peace.

True but if he leverages AU for a raise and extension this week. Continues the cycle of great year ok year bad year. He might have lost some good will and patience by doing it this way.

IF he continues that cycle and is ever termed, he is termed on a larger contract value, so it still makes sense to use the leverage while you have it. I'm sure he doesn't anticipate them ever firing him, but if they do he'd rather be fired off a deal at $6M+ than a deal at $4M+.

Gustav is apparently tired of always being 1 loss away from the hot seat...or worse.

if the mf'er is always "one loss away" he must be a fricking miracle worker after his collection of 5 loss seasons. it's a stupid supposition.

What you be angry if he'd won 4 national titles, was coming off back-to-back-to-back SEC titles, and the loss stopped what was a 24 game SEC winning streak? Or would you say, "eh, he's earned a game like that" and not over-react?

I’m starting to think going 8-5 most years is worth it for the once every four or five year trip to the natty and once a decade winning a natty.

Auburn is going to pay top money to him and sign a long term contract and then get a steady return of 8-5 seasons

...and if we make a play-off run every 4 years, we'll have more hardware in the case than 90%+ of every other Div 1-A team in the country.
