Kids are always around athletic programs. If you don't actively see something sexual then how the hell are you supposed to know he's fricking kids? I coach baseball and I'm always around youth kids. This is normal for coaches.
First, congrats on working with young athletes, they need good role models. Secondly, I think if you saw someone lathering up a kid in the shower room that was off limits to non-faculty you would not find that normal.
There were multiple accounts of suspicious activity in those showers from at least one coach, one janitor and multiple victims that spanned years.
I doubt you would have found any of this normal. And I am willing to bet you would have made sure it was looked into.

would you want to be treated like Schiano? Good Lord! somebody said somebody else told him that Schiano saw Sandusky in a shower. and this recollection was recalled 15 years later. Schiano says it didn't happen and the guy who was quoted saying schiano told him that says the conversation never happened.
so you're gonna lynch the guy and brand him for life?
do you understand how that really sucks?

it's pretty well known at this point that many people were suspicious Sandusky was abusing children.

Taken completely out of context and you know it. That is some low down bullshite dude.

I'm suspicious of anyone who comes within ten feet of my kids but that doesn't hold a candle in court. If Schiano never witnessed him diddling kids then how is he to blame for something some shithead monster did?

He had a winning record at a perennial powerhouse like Rutgers.
In 2005 he was finally able to turn the corner there and get some big wins. From 2005-2011 he had a record of 56-28. During that same time period Tennesee had an amazing record of 47-41. What does that say about your program? I think he would have been a huge upgrade over anyone else you have to pick from now.

That is a fair point.
However, in 2010 when I was asked if I had ever heard of any allegations of Sandusky molesting children I would have said No.
Instead he said he did not want to get into all that and would not comment.
He denied in 2016 after the deposition became public knowledge, via twitter. He did not immediately respond when asked by the press.
None of that means he knew, but I think a lot of people would have been much more adamant about not knowing from the start.

You are alleging nearly the worst type of behavior imaginable against a guy with little to no evidence to support the allegation simply because you don't want him coaching your football team. You should probably take a step back.

I mean, Mike McQueary testified that Schiano did see something. I understand Schiano has denied as much. Fair or unfair, that's not a great look.

Did not win a single division title in the Big East.
1 game over .500.
Absolutely awful rep amongst everyone in the NFL circle.
Yeah we should’ve been grateful that he would coach here, we’re really going to miss out on all those 6-7 win seasons while literally all of our rivals are trying to compete for championships.

Didn't a lot of the abuse happen when they were hosting youth football camps? I highly doubt Sandusky was just parading naked kids around the office. I once worked with a guy who was busted for child porn; I knew he was a little nerdy and socially awkward, but I never would have guessed that shite. Generally speaking, those types of people are very good at hiding shite.

Yeah all those youth camps at the Penn State facilities were really hidden away.

In a 2015 deposition that was unsealed last year, former Nittany Lions assistant coach Mike McQueary testified that another Penn State coach had told him that Schiano had talked of seeing Sandusky abusing a boy in the early 1990s.
quote:
“Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower,” McQueary said he heard of Schiano, who worked under Sandusky at Penn State from 1990 to 1995, according to the court document. Schiano, however, denied saying such a thing, telling ESPN’s Adam Schefter last year, “I never saw any abuse, nor had reason to suspect any abuse, during my time at Penn State.”

I bet if John Gruden coached there during that time y'all wouldn't have said one word about it and welcomed him with open arms.

you serious? All of this is available to read, as there was a trial. He was abusing little boys in the football facilities, including the showers in the locker rooms.

It's that old after the fact recollection thing. They are blaming Schiano because he was in the program at the time. He should have known even though every child molester that's ever been caught in the history of child molesting doesn't exactly let on that he's a child molester but lets just assume Schiano was complacent in some old guys rape fantasies......Do you think he would have ever gotten a job? Hell no. This was a bad hitjob. I hope Schiano finds a job and has a great career. Blaming him for some old CHOMO's disgusting behavior is some shitty character assassination that isn't fair and I would be suing the shite out of anyone that attached my name to that piece of shite Sandusky.

And that's what everyone seems to not get, just the POSSIBILITY of his involvement is enough to back away.
Schiano was dropped on Tennessee fans yesterday like a bomb, no balloon was floated to gauge reaction or to give fans proper time to asses the situation and get more facts. The reaction might have been the same, probably would have been, but UT would have known this in advance and backed away before this shitstorm could happen.
Innocent or not, the mere POSSIBILITY of being involved is enough for me, don't want stigma anywhere near UT.

The guy that was said to have relayed that information denied it. So it's bad second hand info on a conversation both the coach who supposedly said it and Schiano deny. So again, it's a very weak argument of Schiano being complacent in the rapes.
