Greatest thing ever would be for Arch to be like Peyton in his rookie year with a billion interceptions. No fan base would deserve it more with all of the chest thumping going on.

Is this where the sore loser Vol players all run their little mouths?

Jay Saving Evans for only the perfect moments is killing us.

I get not wanting to burn your best down a run…but, why wouldn’t you hold them at 1 run with Evans after back to back HR?
You have them on the ropes at that point. Why not go for the series win instead of trying to play the long game for the sweep?

Jay teed up the 9-hole for Schmidt and he fricking walked him. That’s an execution problem and not a coaching problem.

Let’s not understate the confidence boost Cade just got from throwing out a runner. Hope it leads to offense.

Do yall think that would have made it out in Lindsey Nelson?

Frey sat there and watched 3 pitches down the middle. He earned that strike out.

Might just mean you have to go to Volantis earlier in the game on a Friday or Saturday rather than a late game close out. Should be fine for winning 2/3 in your remaining weekends, but will definitely hinder your sweep opportunities.

ATP golf tour guys played it in 30mph winds a few years ago. Some of them were having to play driver off #4 tee and layup short right.
Hardest hole on the course imo.

Just following up after our trip. All of the courses were great and the hospitality was first class for the most part.
Peninsula:
-We only played the Marsh/Lakes layout. Conditions were great and greens rolled true. I felt like I could hit driver off the tee more than you would think on the Marsh side. The lakes side felt much more like forced layups off the tee that required thought. Both layouts were a lot of fun, though. Can’t say enough about the staff here. Felt like it was the best of the bunch in terms of being taken care of.
Craft Farms:
- Played the Cotton Creek and the Cypress Bend course. Accommodations were excellent as well as the food. Cart girls were plentiful, and the clubhouse lunch was really good. It was nice to grab lunch and relax before our afternoon 18.
- Cotton Creek: This may have been my favorite round of the weekend. Just a great mix of thoughtful holes, as well as holes you can just tee it up and let it fly. I liked this one a ton.
-Cypress Bend: Felt like your typical resort course. Pull driver and hit wedge in. We enjoyed it liquored up in the afternoon, but there weren’t a whole lot of memorable holes. Possibly a result of the liquor, but I doubt it. Nice course but a little boring.
Kiva:
- Surprisingly the worst hospitality of the 3 locations. Didn’t see a single cart girl for the first 8 holes. Course was in really good shape. We stunk it up on the front 9 for the most part, but tore it up on the back 9. Back 9 feels like a typical back and forth group of nine holes, but it’s still fun.
All in all Gulf Shores is a great guys golf trip location. If you can’t go have fun there, then I’d probably say that you’re the problem and not the courses. Maybe that’s just the opinion of someone who’s not all that picky, but at the end of the day it’s all about the company you keep and we have a great group.
Hope you enjoy your trip.

quote:
#2 - Do not be left on your second shot. Not only are there tree issues, but pitching over the bunkers to that green is often a disaster. #3 - Be careful pinching off that fairway. Many great looking shots eventually trickle into the water. #4 - If you're not confident hitting the green, it's better to play short right than missing right pin high. #13 - Playing to the very front of the green is the smart play here unless you play a natural fade and are a great ball striker. #14 - If you can carry a FW a decent distance, there's a play over the bunkers that gets you a ground boost onto or very near the green. #15 - Pay attention to the OOB line over the ditch to the left. Yes, it's a shorter carry over there, but just be aware of it. #16 - Second shot involves hazard on both sides. I find that choosing whatever gets you to just in front of the fairway bunkers works best for most players. Add 1/2 club into that green.
This is all great info. Just to add…
#2: Tee shot does not dog leg as much right as it looks off the tee. Right side of the FW is blocked off by trees, so don’t try to cut off too much.
#3: draw it off the left edge of the left bunker and you’ll be fine. If it doesn’t draw there is room over the bunker and you’ll be safe. Better than being wet.
#4: I’m a lefty that draws my irons, so I don’t even aim for the green. I play it short right and just try to get up and down. I’m always happy with bogey here.
#6: Hit something 235 off the tee and it leaves you a PW or 9-iron in. No reason to challenge the bottleneck. Water is right and cemetery left is OB.
#7: Hit it at the mounds on the right. They typically funnel the ball back into the fw and right side gives you a better angle to that green.
#11: if you’re a longer hitter. If the ground is hard a tee shot that hits right side of the FW will jump forward into the water. It all funnels right.
#15: The best carry is right at the bunkers off the tee or just right edge of them. If the wind isn’t cooperating it’s better to just lay up short of the hazard and hit a 205yd approach.
#16: Any tee shot at the bunker on the right is almost always certain to run down into the bayou. There is a mile wide FW. No reason to miss right even though it probably turns into a 3 shot par 5
#18: Again if you’re a longer hitter the ditch on the left comes into play easier than you think. As a lefty, I like to aim it at the small tree on the right of the FW and cut it back. If it goes straight it’s not really a big problem.

frick yea Ashton. Time to start benching mother frickers who aren’t getting it done. Pearson and Larson are itching for their shots.
