Lots of SEC fans are sitting around eating popcorn while watching other conferences collapse. But Sankey started this thing. If he never goes after UT and OU, the B1G never goes after USC and UCLA. Then the Big12 never goes after other PAC12 schools. And a proud 100 year conference doesn’t cease to exist.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. I want Stanford and Cal to be homeless because they suck as institutions. Feel bad for Wazoo and Ore St.

The PAC 12 killed the Pac 12.

ESPN offered $30 million for TV rights and they said frick you we want $50 million.

They entered into a handshake Alliance with nothing in writing with the 2 conferences who proceeded to rape them.

Do not feel sorry for them. Those in charge of the conference were absolute naive fricktards throughout this process. They lived in an elitist fantasy land.

They let this happen.

Conferences have been changing/evolving since football was invented. And will continue to do so. We could keep going backwards and point out a big change and point to that only to go back more and find a big change and point to it. We will never be done so I just try to enjoy that we still have college football. My bigger worry is them adding new rules every year and eventually putting flags on players with no hitting.

It wasn't too long ago, the Pac 12 was picking and choosing which schools they wanted from the Big 12 largely along cultural lines.

They would be on bended knee asking Baylor and TCU to join right now.

I'm pretty sure he has stated TX and OU reached out to him as the preferred of SEC. If he didn't take them they were going BIG.

Yours and the big ten is absorbing them to the point where it’ll be so saturated that your “super conference” will have about as much character as a conference that no longer exists.

Think of the SEC as the USA, but think of it in a world where there is actually only one country left but it’s not the future you thought it would be.

Why? Aren't they basically Vandy of the west?

Also - what happens to the Rose Bowl now?

They practically demanded, even forced, this to happen. "How to make nothing of something, the death of the PAC-12."

They suck because they represent everything that is wrong with higher education. Elitist, leftist, racist.

Texas killed the PAC 12. Texas begged for an SEC invite and they are the known "conference killers".

The internet told me so.

This was all inevitable. Bowl money and influence prevented the development of a rational post season for over a century. Once media money eclipsed the bowls the whole rotten system was doomed.

Unfortunately, the long artificial delay in this process has created a stinking pile of rubble that will take decades to clear away.

If the Pac 12 went out the day after OU/TX joined the SEC and added BYU and/or Texas Tech/UNLV., they'd still be around.

OU and Texas were always going to go somewhere because the Big 12 was quickly becoming a reimagined C-USA

They can want all they want ... it ain't gonna happen.

A lot of us are enjoying their discontent and suffering btw. The more they waller in their financial abyss the more we should be throwing them lifelines made of bricks.

There have never been two more deserving, immoral and deplorable, athletic institutions created on the face of this earth.

Clemson could have left the ACC in '72, with us, as they committed-to ... but no.

FSU could have joined the SEC in '92 ... but no.

Things always work out for the best for those that do the right things.

Texas started it when they pissed Frank Broyles off enough for us to finally leave the SWC. SEC adding Arkansas and South Carolina toppled the first domino.

SEC is now too big for Texas to bully like every other conference they've been in and they know that they need the SEC waaaaaay more than the SEC needs Texas.

Apple killed the PAC12

The media deal they were offering wasn’t competitive, and the PAC12 commissioner wasn’t competent enough to get a deal done with TV. USC saw the writing on the wall and went to the best option available, then took UCLA with them, and Colorado leveraged their history to get out too. The rest is history now

This would’ve happened even if the SEC stayed at 14 teams

HOW does getting teams from the XII result in B1G taking teams from an alliance member (something they said would NEVER happen between them)?
