He was born in Cali and spent much of his time in Cali. Has a warped mindset.

Bama's averaging a title every other year under Saban. How that's not a success makes no sense. McElroy hates his own school. Makes no sense. Saban must have fricked his mind up.

ETA: Buck Belue is entirely a homer, I get it but if I was going to be a sports talk person, I'd rather go the route of Belue than McElroy. McElroy's a disgrace to Bama.

I don’t even see it as him trying to be impartial when discussing bama. He just makes ridiculous statements with zero logic behind them. It doesn’t matter the subject. Pretty much just trying to be a shock jock

That is a crazy take right there. How much better could Bama be for crying out loud?

Quite a bit actually and would have been had Bama had a great kicker during Saban's entire run at Bama.

Had Bama made the 4-5 missed field goals in the 1st LSU game in 2011, the 2011 Alabama team goes 14-0 with a SEC Title and Trent Richardson likely wins the Heisman Trophy that year. Richardson was leading in the Heisman polls after the Iron Bowl, not playing on championship weekend likely cost him the trophy.

Had Bama made the 4-5 missed field goals in the 2013 Iron Bowl, Bama likely goes 14-0 with an SEC and National Title in 2013. AJ had a outside chance to pick up the Heisman that year.

Saban is two made field goals away from two more SEC Titles, another National Title, two more undefeated records, 5 additional wins, 3 fewer losses, another Heisman winning RB and possibly a Heisman winning QB.

Damn field goal kickers.

If you wanna go the Herbstreit route and not be a homer thats great. Its actually admirable. But why intentionally piss off the 1 fanbase with a built in reason to like you

Eh to be fair most of the missed field goals were long with several in the 50’s if my memory is correct. So LSU’s Defense keeping Bama from moving the ball had a lot to do with those misses. They weren’t chip shots.

One of the more impressive things about Saban's run at Bama isn't the titles he's won, but the titles he easily could've had in addition.

One made FG vs AU in 2013 wins it.

Kiffin realizing OSU couldn't stop Derrick Henry would've been nice.

Clemson's fricking pick play.

Not much to say about 2018. It was a beatdown.

And of course Tua gets himself hurt twice in 2019 by not being able to throw the ball away. The guy only played against Auburn once his whole Bama career.

The point is, the rest of college football is kind of lucky Saban hasn't won even more championships.

Thanks to Greg for having one good game at Alabama (2009 UF), but most Alabama fans don't like the guy. I hate him. I think he's an arrogant piece of shite. He's nothing but a-hole without Saban and Alabama. We're the only reason anyone knows his name.

Oh, and I'll never listen to his arse on the radio. Ever.

Well I hope Saban has been slumming it and NOW we're going to see the REAL Saban program in the 2020s.

GMac trying too hard to juice up the local listeners and just made one of the dumbest takes possible.

Not a bad comparison, but I was thinking more along the lines of Danny Kanell.

That SOB is the KING of hot takes, especially anti-SEC ones.

Lol what a stupid arse take. I mean I hate Bama as much as the next guy but Saban has created the greatest dynasty College Football has ever seen. What the hell more do you want to be done?

Not his fault. He's still in concussion protocol from the 2010 Iron bowl.

His 2009 SECCG performance was one of the all-time punching above his weight by essentially outplaying Tebow in no small part because the other 10 guys would not be denied and McElroy hit the necessary plays. Still, he was a very mediocre QB. He was better than JPW but not a ton better.

He's not acquitted himself well as a personality on ESPN. He said some stuff about Tebow recently that just struck me as a man who has some long lived grievances about being Alabama's backup plan for not landing Tebow...especially considering their careers have intersected so often. Buddy it has been a decade and a half since you flipped to Alabama over Texas Tech after Tebow went to Florida. Let it go.

Take the Covid and Mulligan years out of the equation and Bama fans would be bitching that Saban really has underachieved on the field. It would be a legit argument based on his recruiting.
