Different eras, to each his own time.
Saban this Century!
THE BEAR, last century!
BAMA was the most televised team in the last century per the SEC.
That was because of the "BEAR!"

Bryant never had a ten year run like Saban's.
Bryant didn't win four national championships in the 70s but he did win eight conference championships in the SEC to go along with the three national titles that he did win. He could have had a fourth national title in '77 if there was any kind of justice.

numerous first round picks to go along with All Americans
That's what makes Bryant's run in the 70s so impressive. He did it without as many All-Americans and first rounders. I'm not saying he's better than Saban, I'm simply saying not to sell the Bear short. People forget how dominant he was.

College football's landscape is much tougher and more competitive today IMO, which is why Saban gets the nod.
Bingo ! The game is so different today, including
the advent of the black player, it's impossible to
make a balanced comparison. Bryant wins for becoming a legendary character but overall, Saban as the
greatest college coach, with the potential to add.

Both were different. I'd have to say Saban's resume is unarguably more impressive.
However, Bear Bryant is a much more legendary figure and arguably built the foundation of the Bama empire.
Saban won a national championship at two schools in the toughest division in the college football world. He also came in during down periods at both programs and elevated those programs.
It's really hard to argue that any coach - even Bryant is better than Saban. And don't give me that "muh Dabo" bullshite. Dabo only has to beat one tough team a year to win his championships. The ACC schedule is a joke and half their teams are G5-tier.
There's not a current HC at any SEC school that will come close to making a run at Saban's position. If any of you want to dispute that, put forward an argument.

Some of Bryant’s probably aren’t legit. MNCs.

“He was robbed of 2 titles by the bias for Notre Dame.”
Exactly what years are you talking about?
1973 Bama missed an extra point (very costly) in the Sugar Bowl and lost to ND 24-23. No bias there. Special teams cost Bama a NC.
1975 (1974 season) Orange Bowl. ND beat Bama 13-11. ND was the better team that night.
1977 I would say Bama had an argument there and I can agree that Bama caught a bad break. However ND destroyed (#1) Texas in the Cotton Bowl and so it was no surprise that they leapfrogged Bama to #1.

Saban has won championships in an era where teams had to really play a championship game and win against a real peer opponent that is worthy of being a champion themselves.
Bear won titles when it was a popularity contest where politics and payoffs were part of everything and teams didn’t have to beat someone their equal or close to their own status.
I go with Saban

Coach is not in the position to ever be on Nick Saban's level.
LSU is likely his last stop. He's failed at his previous stops.
Saban elevated struggling LSU and struggling Bama and won championships at both. O will never be able to achieve that level of success. He likely won't even come close to the number of championships Saban has won at Bama.
As a neutral MSU fan that hates both LSU and Bama, O can't even hold Saban's jock strap.
It would take years of sustained championship runs for O to even be in the conversation.

Both are great. But I’d say Saban has he won 5 in less time at Bama in an age of greater parity.

Not sure who down voted you but you are correct. The SEC has always had scholarship limits.

Not even close
Saban by a mile
Even with over-signing & "roster management", Saban started every season with 85 schollies just like everyone else, the same can't be said for the single guy that is responsible for about 85% of the NCAA rulebook as we know it today, that would be Bear Bryant, the cheatingest Coach in the history of organized sports
I see you pricks are STILL butt-hurt over being run out of the SEC by Alabama/Coach Bryant. If baby-boy Bobby Dodd hadn't had his arse handed to him so many times by Bryant-coached Alabama teams, maybe he wouldn't have run away crying.

Of course, people once thought Saban would keep winning championships too but since 2015 it's really just been one lucky hail mary pass that's kept Saban relevant.
You probably can't wait for somebody to start a Stupidest Poster thread around here.
