2009. OM/LSU. 6 seconds left in the 4th. Jordan Jefferson hits on a desperation pass to put LSU on the 10 yard line... clock stops with 1 second left. Les leaves the FG unit on the sideline thinking 1 second is enough time to spike.

This is the most misunderstood play in SEC history.

It didn't matter which group was on the field. The game ended before the snap. The "clock it" play never existed. The botched in-game coaching happened a few plays earlier when they ran a ton of clock before calling a time out.

2013 UA/AU. UA gets a second. Saban trots out his shitty FG kicker. The rest is history.

There were several other mistakes made in this game bigger than that one. It snowballed.

This past year:

Utah is tied with Washington 30-30 and punts with 30 seconds left. Ball is on the Washington 28 yard line.

Washington has been behind a good portion of the game, so Chris Petersen decides to run out the clock and go to overtime. They have no timeouts.

After UW gets a short gain, Utah inexplicably calls timeout.

Petersen looks at the clock and says, "what the hell." He calls up a quick pass play for about 20 yards. Browning then completes a 30 yarder.

Before you know it, Washington is on Utah's 21 yard line kicking the game-winning field goal.

Another one I just remembered for the laughs, even though it had no bearing on the final outcome:

Carl Pelini calls for a spike on fourth down.

The drug bust on him makes so much sense

LSU-Tennessee 2010

Watch in wonder as two major college football programs struggle fiercely to hand each other the victory.

It took me a little while to remember the specific game this happened...

1999 Music City Bowl

Syracuse had a 14-13 lead with about 1:30 left, on Kentucky's side of the field. I don't think Kentucky had any (or enough) timeouts to prevent Syracuse from ending the game.

So Kentucky's defense literally laid on the field and let Syracuse score a rushing touchdown.

To compound the error, Paul Pasqualoni (the Syracuse coach) decided to go for 2. They didn't get it.

I always wished Kentucky could've marched down the field to tie that game.

2013 Tennessee.

Up by 1 or some shite and it’s 4th down on our own side of the field with a minute and a half left. Spurrier calls two timeouts and punts. Tennessee gets a miracle catch and a FG as time expires

I almost give Tenn a pass on this one. The mass confusion and mass of players LSU ran out as the clocked ticked down made Tenn lose their minds.

Could somebody explain to me what Les Miles was doing the last 2 minutes of the 2016 Auburn game. I missed the game and for some reason the replays are curiously edited during that stretch. Look like Les let 25-30 seconds run off the clock twice for some reason.

How about Curley refusing to stop throwing the ball on the Plains in '94

It's a shame one of those coaches had to win the 2010 LSU / Tennessee game.

Les is the worst good coach ever. Will never forget him trying to call a TO after an INT vs Tennessee in 2005

Croom pissed me off in Athens in I believe 2006.

We were in the game with UGA and had 4th and 2 on the UGA 42 yard line late in the third quarter. Croom elected to go for it and we had a gain of 3 to the 39.

3 plays later, we had 4th and 1 from the UGA 30. Croom elected to punt to "pin them deep." Of course it was a touchback.

Ended up losing the game by 3.

The SEC Rant in-game thread on that was one of the most entertaining things the interwebs every produced. Page after page of pure comic gold.
