OP: Do any grad transfer QBs ever work out?
Yes, XYZ did
OP: Ok, but they didn't bring anything of value.
They did actually, here are their stats
OP: Ok, but they were never game changers or had "wow moment

Let's try again.

Lsu fans are expecting joe burrow to elevate the team to something that matters. That could be a division title, conference title, playoff berth or as often the case with you people, 8 and 4 with a win against alabama.

You'll take ANY of those things.

Now follow along. Other than russell wilson and jake coker, can you think of one single grad transfer quarterback that has met at least one of those expectations or something like it?

Not all grad transfers can set an NCAA passing record or win 85% of their games as a starter like Greyson Lambert.

99.99 % of LSU fans not only believe his presence matters? but that he is a major upgrade from our other options and for all the reasons I’ve listed that you haven’t responded to.

He is not interested in responding. He doesn’t think that Burrow will amount to anything. That’s what this thread is about. It doesn’t matter what kind of talent Burrow has or that a large percentage of Buckeyes fans feel that he should actually be starting for Ohio State.
This thread is for one thing and one thing only. His objective is get people to agree with him that Burrow won’t be any good.
That’s it! End of story!!

Yeah he wasn't bad but when do these grad transfer quarterbacks elevate a team or in the case of jake coker, simply keep a team stable? Honestly, other than russell wilson and jake coker, i can't think of one.

A&M didn't win any of the games Knight didn't start/couldn't finish so I'm pretty sure it's safe to say he elevated the team.

I don't know about peterman but etling and massoli brought nothing of value to the table.

Is that why Etling got drafted and Hurts will not?

Jake Rudock - Rudock was named the MVP of the 2016 Citrus Bowl. Rudock became the first quarterback in Michigan history to throw for at least 250 yards in five consecutive games. Rudock completed 20-of-31 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns, becoming just the second Michigan quarterback to throw for 3,000 yards in a single season, following John Navarre in 2003. Rudock finished his season ranked No. 2 in single-season passing yards (3,017) and No. 1 in single-season completion percentage (64 percent).

Davis Webb - Webb completed 382 of 620 passes (62%) for 4295 yards, 37 touchdowns and twelve interceptions for a 135.63 QBR. He set school single-season records for passing attempts, completions and total plays while tying three other school records, including total touchdowns (43 (37 passing, 6 rushing)), and 300-yard passing games (10). In 2016, he was named the Golden Bear's Season MVP and won the Reese's Senior Bowl MVP award. Webb was also nominated to the College Football All-America Team, and was a semi-finalist for both the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, as well as an honorable mention All-Pac-12 choice of the league's coaches and the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year. Webb was also in the final 15 for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Danny etling was not a game changer at all. He didn't elevate his team. He wasn't clutch and if he had a "wow" moment, i can't think of it.

When has Bama had a QB that “elevated the team”? Be realistic. They have all been serviceable. Put Danny Etling as the starting QB for Bama last year and you still win the same number of games.

So in the extremely rare, small sample size instances of grad transfer QBs moving from major program to major program, you were able to provide an example of one winning a national championship for your school just 3 years ago, yet you are asking for examples and wondering why LSU fans are excited about Burrow.

There are only two instances i can think of where grad transfer QB's actually elevated a team or mattered in a significant way.

The concepts of value and significance seem to be too tough for you.

Knight won the Arkansas game and was huge versus UTk.

Definitely an elevator.

The reports of intelligence, maturity, work ethic, film study, competitor making everyone around him better are extremely encouraging considering the clown show that has been the LSU QB room for years.

Can anyone honestly tell me the last time a true sophomore QB from Hawaii with the same starting letter for his first and last name started at a school in Alabama and won a division title?

Because I can't!

Russell Wilson doesn't even fit your qualifications. Wisconsin had a better record and was ranked higher in 2010 than they were in 2011

If they were that good they wouldn’t be grad transferring. Most of the team they’re averagish QBs going to a team in a bad situation QB wise
