which means Herman may actually consider leaving Houston now...

If so, Notre Dame or USC will be happy to have him

Nebraska needs a non-AAU buddy.

They were AAU when the Big 10 invited them but then got kicked out the next year.

Other conferences play 12 plus a CG. They play 12 and that's it and can schedule weak at the end instead of others playing best against best to get into the playoffs. They shouldn't have the same weight applied for a spot as those with CG's.

Everyone I know up here wants to be in SEC. They want out.

If OU wants in the sec, it will probably happen during the next expansion. Is OU willing to kill the red river rivalry for it?

But at least they are playing 9 conference games.

Yeah. Those annual games against Kansas and Iowa St are very impressive.

OU scared of Houston

Nah baw, the only benefit of Houston is to get an 11th team. Houston would not increase the revenue of the conference by any significant amount. So the existing Big 12 teams would see their conference check decrease.

Yeah, I remember how pissed the B1G was when that happened. Honestly, Mizzou is the next school to lose AAU membership.

I could actually see them being more interested in the big ten

I could see that as well, but they are even less likely to get an invitation there than they are to the SEC now.

Not really. At least for a while. If houston was admitted, they would have to agree to take a very small cut of the conference pie for several years. Some talking as small as just a few million. Still better than AAC, but not really Power 5 money yet.

So after "several years" where does the money come from to increase Houston's piece of the pie?

And are they willing to come without Okie Light?

I don't see Okie Light getting the invite.

that's on fricking vote. I doubt the non texas colleges give a rat's arse what the governor and lt. guv want. it's none of their business.

if all of the texas schools vote yes, they still don't get in unless they can convince what, 4 of the other 6.

once all of the numbers are in, I don't think even the texas schools are a lock. without a network, most of these other schools probably do want want the pay cut.

I think so but maybe you could maintain it?

Nonetheless they've seen A&M do pretty damn well jumping over while killing its UT rivalry. They reference A&M a lot.
