Can you name a time that has worked?

Corch Meyers, Mike Leach, Dan Merlins, Lane Kiffin, Jim Harbough, just to name a few recents.

If Key can actually perform a decent turnaround at GT, he should be a top target as well.

No way in hell would Alabama ever hire another Tech coach

Lanning would be a home run. Young guy, Bama would have elite D and recruiting for a long, long time.

Schuman may be great but damn those lights would be bright for anyone, let alone a first year coach.

Yeah, let's replace one of the greatest college football coaches of all time with a co-defensive coordinator who has zero head coaching experience.

Would rather have Lanning.

Hell.
With that argument, you can have Muschamp.

I see what y’all are saying but following the goat will scare big names away…and big names are no guarantee. Kirby had no experience…. Who do you suggest? Kiffin?

You're right baw.

I just expect more homerism from Bama fans.

Eugene Oregon is a very very nice place to live, making $7m a year with the only expectation to win 9 games a year. Wife, three kids, I'd stay in Eugene at least until they were grown.

Lanning has been a head coach for less than two full seasons.
So, he needs to build some continuity as a head coach and tuck some money away.

Lanning was hired specifically to add some additional in-depth defensive expertise to the Oregon program and I have a feeling that he intends to honor that commitment.
