Up, he wouldn’t be a bad choice. Lanning as well.

Probably not bad choices.

Bama could do worse. Lanning is probably the safer hire, but Schu has more potential. He has been with Kirby/Saban his entire career, and was the first hire that Kirby made

Yeah the more I read about him the more I like him! Learning from Kirby, who may end up being the goat.

I'm not saying it won't happen or wouldn't be a great hire, but the AD will probably look for an established HC.

That said, following CNS at Bama will come with extraordinary pressure. It will take a special coach to handle that, manage the turmoil if the team slips off the pace, and weather the crazies calling for his head after any loss.

Ha! True!! Those who want to be the best can always learn from the best….hard to deny that UGA is the best the last 2-3 years.

If Key can actually perform a decent turnaround at GT, he should be a top target as well.

Probably needs to flap his wings, go out and get a real coordinator job on his own and get some head coaching experience at some level. A brilliant football mind does not automatically translate to a CEO position.

In this day and age I think hiring a coach with an offense background is the better move.

I think Key is where he wants to be. Tech man through and through, and dedicated to bringing Tech back from the ledge.

There's this thing called money, and sometimes it talks.

Eugene Oregon is a very very nice place to live, making $7m a year with the only expectation to win 9 games a year.

Wife, three kids, I'd stay in Eugene at least until they were grown.

Going to Bama wouldn't be my move if I were a 37 year old multi-millionaire with a sweet job in a good part of Oregon.

That's the issue in the NFL right now. If you hire a defensive minded head coach and that defensive minded head coach hires a really good offensive coordinator, that offensive coordinator will just get hired as a head coach sooner rather than later, because all of these owners get so happy and gay for offensive minded head coaches.

Kind of like the Lions situation right now. Their OC will be one of the top head coaching candidates for a lot of teams in the off-season, and what will the Lions look like next season after he's gone.

Exactly. This is why no matter how good of a defensive coach you are if you are a head coach you’re sort of at the mercy of your OC.

Just because you can say anything doesn’t mean you have to let everyone know you’re a retard.
