The AD makes that decision or should.....UGA's AD should tell them to get their asses to NYC and go play and focus on getting better instead of acting like some baby back bitches

I assume you feel the same about football players that sit out their teams bowl games? I mean, I do feel that way, but I am not a basketball fan, so it doesn't bother me if they go to the NIT or not.

That’s even worse IMO. Continue to get your young guys that tournament experience.
Again, not sure what value one or, at max, two games under a coach they'll never play for again really has. Take some time to get healthy and ready to hit the ground running when the new coach comes in.

You do realize the seniors probably had more say about playing than anybody, right?

If Yante and Parker wanted to play in the NIT, we'd be playing in the NIT.

If the seniors or other players that are leaving are happy with declining, it’s fine.

Edit: the players apparently elected not to play. Whatever.

I tend to agree, but I don't thin it is any worse than people saying their football team lost a game because they didn't really want to be there, or the game didn't mean anything.

The team made the decision.

I mean sure, but stuff like this shouldn't be left to the team. It's better for the program to get extra practice, exposure, and game time.

If the TEAM doesn't even want to play, what good does it do for them to lackadaisically halfass their way through a game and get beat by 20? That doesn't help anyone.

And the "extra practice" they'd get is with a lame duck coach that won't even be coaching the team next season. This would practically be an exhibition that doesn't mean a lick. I'm a fan so I want to see them again, but if the players don't want it I can't really fault them. Guess they all want the clean break.

And they didn’t have as much success as they wanted to this season? I don’t suppose there could be a connection.

What I'm saying is, it should have never been left to a team vote. There's a ton of shite I don't want to do, but they signed to play for the university, if they choose to sit out, pull their scholarship.

One of the most retarded things I've read on here, and that includes all of Monteg's posts.

right..and they played the games that were scheduled. Remember the I in NIT stands for invitation...it's no different than a bowl game. Teams are forced or required to play in them, you can decline if you choose and we are declining. They aren't doing anything out of line IMO, although it stinks for the fans.

You think our mediocre, average at BEST bball program should pull the scholarship of every member of the team for turning down an invitation to participate a maximum of 2 games in a completely meaningless tournament? Holy shite dude.

The ones that refuse to play, yes.

Pretty terrible life lesson they're getting here.
