Georgia finally the lead dog/big fish/other alpha animal analogy in college football again

It feels good, man! I had to put up with a lot of shite as a Georgia fan to get to this point, and there were plenty of times over the years when I wondered if I'd die of old age before I watched Georgia win a national championship, because I'm not old enough to remember the Herschel Walker era. Then, we won back-to-back, which still sort of feels surreal.
It just proves that college football is cyclical, and anything can happen if you're patient enough as a fan and don't lose your mind first.
For this exercise, the Gregorian calendar will be used to determine when a decade begins and ends, because that way the cherrypicked numbers look even more dominant and more convincing. This decade...
WEEKS SPENT AT #1 IN AP POLL
every other SEC program – 19
Georgia – 40
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
every other SEC program – 0
Georgia – 2
SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS
every other SEC program – 2
Georgia – 3

Not knocking LSU's run, because they'd clearly been the best program of the century in the SEC in November 2011.
But LSU didn't have the SEC's last two national championships in November 2011. They also didn't have 3 out of the last 4 SEC championships.
The Gumps got left behind. Might as well take the Nick Saban poster hanging above your bed and throw it in the damn trash can.

Finally! Congrats! It's pretty cool up in the stratosphere; reentry sucks, though.

Nobody victory melts like Georgia after beating Alabama by 3 points

I hear ya, but this is Kirby's 11th year, he's the longest-tenured SEC coach at this point. At what do you say someone has staying power?
Surely you weren't thinking this about Saban in 2015-2016, a similar point in his tenure at Bama.

In terms of conventional and traditional melts, the ones that happen after a loss, where does Bama rank?

It's amazing how some georgia fans view success. You literally just barely won a slugfest of a game against a team that you're saying has been "left behind" with a first year 19 year old starter in his sixth ever college start with a very young accompanying cast. You do realize your team isn't as dominant as you're playing them up on the internet. Once bounce of the ball in a different direction Saturday night and you're 5-1. I really don't think Alabama has been "left behind". Learn how to handle success my dude. You're acting like a kid who's known nothing but poverty and tv trays your entire life and now gets to go to a nice restaurant and making a fool of themselves. Enjoy the success, but you're not in another stratosphere. You're well in arms reach of other programs.

Georgia officially left Alabama behind in January 2023, when it won it's second straight national title.
When your team has back-to-back 4-loss seasons, and when another SEC program has two national titles since your most recent one, you've officially been left behind, and you don't have a pot to piss in.

This thread did not go how you thought it would

These last 36 hours have personally been my favorite 36 hours in Rant history.
Bama fans, of all people, complaining about refs showing favoritism towards the other team has been the richest and most ironic part of the melting.
Keep melting.

Georgia is the definition of "new money." While you're trying to rub your success in everyone else's face, just be aware that us old money types will not be extending you an invitation to the country club. You can flaunt your newfound wealth to the poors at the public course.

ONE AND DONE AS THE HIGHEST SEEDED SEC 12 SPOT PLAYOFF TEAM

In terms of dooshy analogies and dooshy posts, this one ranks way the frick up there.
Anytime a Bama fan references "old money," they are just inviting trailer park and poverty jokes. Congrats on not being 48th or 49th on the list of poorest states anymore. WIth a positive attitude and good leadership around the capitol building, the state of Alabama can definitely get out of the lower 40s and leap into the 30s one day.

I say this in all seriousness. If Uga loses their first playoff game again this year, Kirby is going to start having some doubters.

It's spelled "douchey," but I wouldn't expect a Georgia fan to know that.
