Sounds like a net negative of a day for the Georgia defense.

Kimbrough leaving Georgia

quote:

The senior from Indianapolis was the team’s third-leading tackler last season with 67.

"It has to do with some other stuff," that his father did not want to divulge. "He didn't get into trouble or nothing like that. It's just in our best interests. We're from Indiana and it's kind of hard. I can't do everything 600 miles away and get information like I'm supposed to. He just was very unhappy."

Patrick and Smith are the future, I wish Kimbrough well.

You wish. Kimbeough is a good player but he was in the process of losing his position on depth chart

Did y'all throw his belongings in the trash, like champs?

He was running 4th at ILB at the end of camp behind Reggie Carter, Natrez Patrick, and Roquan Smith. Sucks depth wise but isn't really that big of a loss.

To be honest - I don't like losing Kimbrough a bit. He hit like a mack truck. He definitely would have been useful for us this year.

It hurts depth wise, but he want going to be playing, barring injury. I was him the best.

Pretty much what everyone else has already said. He slid down the depth chart during practices and wasn't going to be starting (or even second string, possibly not even third).

It's understandable why he decided to leave and I wish him well. Seems to be a good kid and definitely a hard hitter.

He's a thumper at ILB.

You don't want to be a thumper in modern college football.

I'm not sure why everyone thinks this wasn't a big deal, it will definitely hurt to lose TK. He may not have been penciled in to start but he was still a very solid LB for us. Carter has never stayed healthy and Roquan hasn't done anythign yet of note. In the run heavy SEC, and especially with us being paper thin on the DL, it would have been nice to keep a guy like that.

It's not ideal, but he wouldn't be leaving if he thought he had a good opportunity to play a big role.

scuttlebutt on another board (which basically means, could be 100% wrong obviously) is that he was told by doctors he shoudln't play due to some head condition of some sort. That would also somewhat validate his tweets of it not being his decision.
