I thjnk He is a good coach? But it took him too long to figure out his offense.

He was trying to build the 2009-2012 Alabama teams and those teams are just outdated. As good and successful as they were.

Why do Georgia fans refer to Lil Stet as a walk on?

Because he was signed out of high school as a walk on, which means he will always be able to called a walk on. He earned that moniker. You already knew that.

The 1st 5 years of the Kirby era are almost identical to the 1st 5 years of the Richt era.

In conclusion, Kirby=Richt

I can’t figure out if you realize this a compliment.

But he left and came back on scholarship, correct?

I think the takeaway here is that, so far, Kirby is closer to Gus Makzahn or Jackie Sherrill than he is to Urban Meyer or Bob Stoops.

I think the takeaway is that a majority of the coaches you listed here were operating in a time of college football that doesn’t remotely resemble the current time period (let alone having to compete with a program that is operating like Alabama and Saban are). The only coaches for comparison at this point are Dabo, Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day who are in virtually identical situations as coordinators/assistants who became first time HCs at big programs. Kelly, Meyer, and even Saban we’re all HCs with success at multiple stops prior to their current/final college stops. You can make an argument for Gus and Jimbo given that they are still active and their last title shots were 8 years ago.

I think Kirby is a good coach, and an amazing recruiter. He just really gives off a fake vibe though. He will eventually put it all together.

Correct
The context is the same as any other walkon offered a scholarship, though.
They are referred to as walkons.

Yes. Stet is the walk on who works real hard and plays scout team and earns a scholarship for his senior year. Only because of COVID it ended up being these past 2 years. His first couple of years at UGA he was the walk on scout team QB

Nah, it's you trying to rationalize it.

Great recruiter and "decent" coach. You can have great success with that model.

Irrelevant to the point. Giving a walk on scholarship doesn’t mean the player wasn’t originally a walk on and thus can always be considered a walk on

But didn't he transfer to another school then UGA brought him back on scholarship?

Don't see how he's a walk on at that point.

If even the great saban can make some stupid calls, it’s okay to give a young coach like smart some slack.

Fair enough. You are arguing semantics. If you want your panties in a wad every time a dawg fan references stet as a walk on, keep picking your a-hole. You be you. Even if your fingers begin to smell bad.

Walk ons are walk ons for life. It’s not a difficult concept.

Not sure about the rant’s grading schemes, but I’ll give it a shot. Each of these, let’s call it not A-list, coaches not just played for but won titles before age 45 (Kirby’s current age

Finally, these coaching giants won titles before they were 50:

LMAO!

If this isn't cherry picking at its finest I don't know what is.

Let's take a look at a few that didn't win a title until after 50

Nick Saban
Bobby Bowden
Tom Osborne

And just for shits and giggles: Coach O

If anything your post demonstrates how being in the right place at the right time along with luck can all be part of a team and coach winning a NC and arguably the 3 best coaches in the last 30 years couldn't pull it off before 50.

That's a B-? How many As/Bs are there?
