He was down to his last strike, no one would be calling it a dumb decision if he struck him out. Hindsight is 20/20.

he does not want the job

Completely false. I’m not saying he will or should get the job, but lack of interest won’t be why he doesn’t.

I don’t understand all of the current handwringing our fanbase has with this coaching search. You don’t hire a coach as an end in itself—you hire a coach to win. We’re winning right now. All of this other stuff can wait. I just want a Natty

Well disagree all you want, but a win is still a win.

I never said it wasn’t.

But it was absolutely a moronic decision whether he struck him out or not.

What has Moorhead done as a head coach?

It was a dumb decision as it was happening, that’s a fact. But had he gotten the W, every FSU would’ve been fine with it. Winning cures all.

What the hell does Moorhead have to do with this discussion? He won 10, 11, and 9 games after taking over a program that went 1-10 before he got there as a head coach, but that has nothing to do with our baseball program. Just because you idiots hired Ed for your football coach doesn't mean we have to do the same with our baseball coach.

Give him a job in the AD office and hire a different coach.

Neither one has a championship. They are on the same level in that regard.

He's going to blow the doors off of LSU in October. But this is a baseball discussion- so what does Moorhead have to do with this?

So because both don't have a National Championship, they are the same level programs that can expect to go after the same level coaches? That's the criteria?

The point I’m trying to make is relative to hitting a worm burner in golf and it rolling 60 yards right into the hole. Bad shot, great outcome. Did I want to hit a worm burner? No. Should I have hit a worm burner? No. But it went in the hole, which is all that really matters at the end of the day.

Welp, agree to disagree then because I'm stick to what I was told (outside of the comment I quoted). However that very well could change if $$ is thrown his way.

If it wasn’t for Elijah McNamee, Gary would’ve gone 2 and Q in our REGIONAL. He is getting way too much credit for this Omaha trip

You’re right, I forget it was Gary who hit the walkoffs in the regional and super regional.

How much credit would you give to Jake Gautreau for this turnaround?
