Dodd would not bring GT to the sticks as he called Mississippi back in the day so as a result, our schools never played GT. My Dad could not stand GT. And then they got greedy and left the SEC because they didn’t like sharing their bowl revenue with the rest of the conference. And it was a significant amount of money in those days. They will never be allowed back in the conference as a result.

So I am State fan/alum but Saturday I am an Ole Miss fan and I hope you guys rout them.

Everything you posted is true. And I would do the same. I'm an Ole Miss fan but would be all in for MSU smashing Tech.

How about just hoping our OL improves before our QB gets killed. Post all you like if we win. This shite will get endlessly bumped if we lay an egg.

GT is a learning organization- they can only be slapped around so much before they wake up

UGA knows & Auburn knows - Clemson knows

Ole Miss - What you know about rolling down in the deep when your brain goes numb?

And didn't GA Tech beat them by 30 in 2008?

Ironic

What is the largest win margin in college football history?
1916 Cumberland vs. Georgia Tech football game - Wikipedia
222–0
Georgia Tech defeated the Bulldogs 222–0 for the most lopsided score in the history of college American football. Cumberland had disbanded its football program the previous year but was still obligated to play this game against Georgia Tech.

Beat me to it. Unfortunately I was there too. And in ATL for that arse beating… And at the Orange Bowl for that arse beating…

Well, even if I was mistaken, it sure is true that you refused to play in Mississippi for the times you were in the conference.

Not only were you wrong, but you didn't bother to check that Georgia Tech and either Mississippi team were never scheduled while all three were in the SEC.

GT played Ole Miss on a neutral field in 1952 sugar bowl (gt won)

So by your logic the Mississippi teams were too chickenshit to play @ tech

Beating the crap out of someone includes wins of 9 points? And Tech fans go about bragging on their math skills....

Your roads and infrastructure were terrible so travel wasn't conducive from Atlanta to Mississippi way back then. Heck, it is still like a Third World country when compared to other Southern States. Sorry.

Interesting that Mississippi bordered Georgia back then....

GT didn’t want to play Mississippi schools - wanted to distance itself

Georgia Tech is now the third most selective public institution in America

You are 100% correct on that. From what I understand back in those days transportation was a big factor in why we didn't play in Mississippi.
I suppose that played a part, but the bigger factor, pre Bobby Dodd, was lack of a financially attractive venue in Mississippi. Remember, up until relatively recent times (around the 80s), teams used to split the gate evenly with the visitors. So, a team like GT, who could draw big crowds playing in Atlanta, wasn't interested in making trips to rural Mississippi for little money.

After they built the stadium in Jackson post WWII, I think it was more about Dodd's distaste for Mississippi.

It was about $$ and a lot of arrogance. Dodd and Tech had a bigger stadium that would provide larger gate receipts and they expected a lot of teams to travel to Atlanta every year, like what Auburn was doing for every game since 1906. Some of the schools said shove it.

Wishbone era Georgia Tech ran circles around State the handful of times we played each other. The ‘08 and ‘09 State teams just weren’t good but ‘14 Orange Bowl team had a good rush defense and GT just gashed us.

Don't understand why you're complaining....Ole Miss still leads the series, 3-2-0.

Three games were played in Atlanta, one in Nashville, and one in New Orleans.

However, being in the SEC for over 30 years, one would think GT & Ole Miss would've played more often and played some games in Mississippi.

Here's your chance, Rebels. Kill'em!!

Oh I get it...even folks in Mississippi are and have been looking for way out even if it means self medicating or turning ones own cold hand to escape the misery...it is no wander that folks from Atlanta were not interested in traveling to a place that makes New Mexico look like a thriving first world economic power...

SEC Fans like to trash GT for leaving the conference and as a UGA fan I like it also...but anyone in the south who fails to recognize that Tech, like Atlanta, is not typically southern and is a major driving force behind the rest of the region thriving as it is. Tech is different. They care more about tin knocking and plumbing than football...someone has to keep the AC on and the toilets flushing.

Now thats how you trash talk the North Avenue Trade School....breaks over, back to work.....
