This is the bracket if anyone is interested who didn't see it yet.

As of today, it looks like Texas will play Alabama, Ole Miss, or Mizzou.

We aren't soft like the 09 Texas football team that packed it in after Colt McCoy left the championship game with a bruised arm.

This is some weak arse smack man. Even with Garrett Gilbert melting down at the end of the first half we were still within 3 points with 6:15 on the clock.

Georgia, Auburn and State are all the hottest team in the SEC right now. All are 8-2 in their last 10. If the tournament started today, they would all be in the same ladder.

Not sure if I would rather play Vanderbilt than any of those teams. One of the best pitching staffs in the SEC, bats are finally heating up.

If Vanderbilt get one of the next two games against Kentucky, they will have won three series' in a row and four of five series total, including a sweep of Georgia and taking the series from Tennessee on the road.

Vanderbilt should have taken that series from Auburn earlier this year too and are playing significantly better now.

Congrat's to the Texas Longhorns, SEC Champions!

Thanks gator. We limped across the finish line no doubt but a title is a title and I'll take it.

I'm about to go down a rabbit hole on the national seeds and other regional hosts..

Anyone have an opinion on what metrics to use/not use?

RPI - yes, definitely
ELO - yes, definitely

equal weight for both RPI and ELO?

Q1 Wins Rank?
Q1 + Q2 Wins Rank?
Q1 + Q2 WIns compared to All Losses?

Not sure how to incorporate SOS because I feel like RPI and ELO already does that a little bit.

Open to all thoughts..

Seems like record vs Q1 would be more pertinent for national seeding. Q1 + Q2 tends to even out over the top 15 or so teams and seems to be a good indicator for hosting in general.

i went ahead and threw something together.. I probably do a deeper dive next week.

I think Florida has a legit chance to host.

Another way to look at it..

I'd be surprised if the 16 hosts didn't come from this list. Now we just need to analyze the data.

I think the Top 7 are pretty much locks for National Seeds, unless something crazy happens in the next 8 days.

Texas
Auburn
Arkansas
LSU
Vanderbilt
Georgia
North Carolina

No idea on the order though. I do think Texas is going to end up #1 or #2.

If Texas wins another game vs Oklahoma they are locked into #1 overall imo.

Much better crowd than yesterday.

MSU plates 5 in the top of the first, making it 30 runs in 10 innings so far.

2nd week in a row that Dutton for Auburn has struggled. Wonder if he's starting to run out of gas since this is his first year with this heavy of a workload.

I'm impressed with the moxie the boys have shown, especially with such a brutal schedule.

I'm glad they are flying under the radar though.
