Yep. What situations like this are going to do is kill a program or two. Like it or not, the NCAA still has rules about what an institiution can do and sooner or later some school will get busted for being too "involved" in NIL deals. Don't think for a second that a scorned teenager won't throw a school under the bus.

There are layers and a multitude of lawyers involved to protect the institution. If the impotent NCAA ever decided to attempt to flex the sad little muscle they once had, they'd get shot down in a court of law.

These NIL conversations are amongst agents of the recruit and agents of the NIL collectives. Everybody's gotta get their cut and parents are directing their agent representative to gather the bids and they decide from there.

In UF's case with Rashada, I believe an attorney wants his commission and apparently there are differing opinions about who was supposed to pay the lawyer.

NIL is nothing more that pay for play.

That’s exactly what it is, and if I’m a company paying you to do something I.e. marketing, then yes their will be a contract. X amount of appearances for X about of dollars while you play at the school I want you to play at.

But I was told Billy wasn't paying kids and that's why he couldn't fill out his class?

Needs to add 7 more staff members to manage the nil budget

Well if it was Free Shoes U it could be that high but probably has a "all the crabs you can steal" clause in there to.

Well, he’s not coming to Florida so clearly he did not get $13MM. Closer to $0.00

If that number really is true then I'd rather just cut ties at this point.

Even the NFL has a rookie cap. Why can't college? $13 million over 4 years is mid-late first round money for NFL rookie contracts including signing bonus.

The NFL has no cap on 3rd party endorsement deals. Ostensibly that's what these deals purport to be.

Leading legitimate sports media outlet reports UF paid recruit $13 million.

tRant:

Random anonymous message board jackass in Oklahoma posts that A&M paid recruits $30 million, woth zero supporting evidence.

Kill” is a bit strong but these types of things will help to slowly regulate the market. We will begin to find out how much is too much for an unproven HS qb

You can thank Aggie boosters for driving nil contracts up to unsubstantial amounts of money.

Every kid expects to get what was handed out in the first nil class . Aggie set the market.

Not saying it was 13 million but it was more than it should be
