Gonna be a real issue for UGA vs SC. Could SC get screwed out of a home game for the 2nd year in the road? After 3 of their first 4 away?? Man, F this season.

Still think the game is on right now, but if the track goes further and further West today, there will be a venue change or the game time will be changed.
Considerations for travel have to be taken into account as well. My wife has a conference down in Mulberry on Friday, in between Tampa and Orlando, and yes the storm would have passed by then, but travel at that time might be dicey around 75. The bands will probably still be over that area.

Doubleheader. UF LSU in the afternoon and SC UGA at night in the GA Dome. College football heaven.

Correct, but Gainesville is further from the Atlantic coast than people think.
Well who is to say what most people think but Gainesville isn't further from the atlantic than BR is from the gulf. It's plenty close enough if a hurricane this size heads even somewhat towards it. Wouldnt even have to head straight at it.

The desperation in this post. The fear.

There will hardly be any Gator fans that travel if this game is moved to BR.
Between everyone making plans for a home game that was supposed to be this week and now a hurricane, LSU will have a big competitive advantage on Saturday if the game is moved to BR.
EDIT: Not that it matters much anyway I suppose... Predicted a loss to LSU before the season began.

Sucks to lose a home game, we know. Feels kind of wrong that we'll be the benefactor of that two years running. But I guess it's better than not playing at all.

Decision will be made Wednesday by noon is what I heard.

Or is the LSU FL game on Friday afternoon?
You obviously don't live in a Hurricane zone...
Yes, the effects of the hurricane (Major forecasted)are timed for Friday night along Fla coast near Gainsville. The mandatory evacuations, the Emergency Responder needs, the infrastructure damage, and just the whole ball of shite that comes with it would probably trump a football game in Gainesville...

We barely mustered 35K for the game against USCe last year in TS. It was completely weird playing in that big ole empty bowl... Yes, it would be mostly LSU fans but when games are not planned a 102K fan crowd does not just show up.

Was last year an 11:00 kickoff as well?

If they have to play at lsu I'm sure lsu will have to play 2 in a row at florida to even out.

Georgia Dome has a game at 2:30
Georgia Tech is on the road, so their stadium would be available.
Florida State is on the road
Saints have a bye week and no events are scheduled in the Superdome so it would be available as well.

quote:Gotta think big picture. It's not what it does in Gainesville. It's the 10 million evacuees that will have to head inland (towards Gainesville).
But seriously, it'll be gone by game time. And we'll be on the weak side of the storm.
To those talking about UGA/SC, obviously that is the game day concern. But Friday, it's a Florida Atlantic Coast concern and it doesn't just go away once the eye passes by. It's a logistical nightmare.
God speed to those in the path of it though.

quote:No shite, but the coast will be moving inland (talking about evacuees). There won't be a single hotel in Gainesville available, plus you just don't frick around with major hurricanes.
Gainesville is not on the coast.
