The latest track has moved much closer to the Florida coastline than it was yesterday. Florida has already declared a state of emergency. If this track holds or moves even further west there is no way a game is played in Gainesville on Saturday morning. There will be to much need for police and first responders in other roles than staffing a football game.

Contingency plans have to be arranged and decided upon by Wednesday afternoon. There is no way the SEC and LSU are going to make LSU fly into the area on Friday as this thing moves in.

Look for the talk of a venue change to escalate immensely today.

well yea the storm will be passed UF by saturday for the game, but what happens if there is damage done all along that coast. that is alot of resources, people don't think about the logistics behind putting a game on.

Latest models, tuesday AM show storm projections moving farther west toward Florida. I believe unless there is a change to the east in the next 24hrs this game will be in jeopardy of being affected badly. It does look that it will pass the area on Friday but will not clear the area by game time.

Sounds more like the Tiger fans are afraid to play in the Swamp. Dey worried Coach O will get a "L".

Gainesville will be a fricking mess if this thing hits Thursday or Friday with a noon start.

Actually, I think latest projections have it going more westward and hitting a lot of Florida now. Regardless, I can only imagine how damn humid that game will be since it's an 11 AM game. Maybe they'll just move it back to a night game?

Gainesville is not on the coast.

Yeah it's a real possibility. As an LSU fan I know all too well. I'd much rather play it in the swamp, but facts are facts. Admitting to them doesn't = i want to steal florida's home game.

You'd think a Florida fan would have better understanding of the effects caused by a hurricane

You realize a hurricane is bigger than a tornado, right?

What are some spots closest to UF the game could be moved to? Georgia Dome?

Correct, but Gainesville is further from the Atlantic coast than people think.

Still think the game is on right now, but if the track goes further and further West today, there will be a venue change or the game time will be changed.

Baton Rouge make the most sense to me. Why pick a site that would involve both teams having to make last minute travel plans?

People really don't get how big of a hurricane this is. Humidity could be the least of the problems. If there is massive power loss in the area, night game won't matter.

It was beautiful in Baton Rouge and New Orleans the day after Katrina as well but that don't mean shite! Don't put your head in the sand about what is heading your way!

Hoping for the best but there has to be plans made in case the forecast track forces a move. Still have 30 hours or so to make a decision and the data at that time will be better known

Game has to be moved. Either to Tiger Stadium or possibly the Super Dome? For easier flights for fans coming via FLA.
