Two leading candidates have to be MTSU's Kermit Davis and La Tech's Michael White, imho.

THIS

I guess Ole Miss basketball fans all of a sudden expect to be Florida or Kentucky.

So it is either Florida/UK or never make the NCAA tourney? There is no middle ground? Makes sense

Well they certainly don't seem as disillusioned as you and your boys were during your potential coaching search.

I just cant see this happening. I assume yall know his dad was HC at Mississippi State in the 70's and he also played there and was an ast coach at State.

It would be like us hiring Gunter Brewer as our next HC.

I didn't like it, but I wasn't shocked since it was an opening for him back in a state that he had said more than once he wanted to be back in and the Celtics clearly didn't work out.

We also have Kenny Payne on staff as an assistant and he was on one of Louisville's championship teams (and got a lot of heat for taking the job at Kentucky by their fanbase).

You said you can't see it happening and went on to mention he's a MSU guy. I'm just pointing out that it doesn't matter as much as you think when you're talking about a head coaching opening in a major conference. Even in a rival school situation in the same state.

I think OM should call up the winningest coach in the Tad Pad.
