There's no record Paul played so much as a snap of JV football. He has a poly sci degree from Tenn. I've never seen him actually discuss plays or game footage.

Oh yes, I'm sure that's it. And that LSU was just "pushing the envelope to force more guardrails on college athletics." Look, I get being a fan, I am one myself. But at some point it's ok to admit that maybe the people in charge of your team are not acting in that team's best interests, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Being threatened with expulsion is not a little thing. It's the conference's nuclear option. The fact that it was even mentioned seems to indicate there's more going on behind the scenes than a simple dispute over rosters.

LSU has had 5 head coaches in the last 25 years. Lane just started as the 5th.
3 of the previous 4 won National Championships. The 1 coach that did not did at least play for a conference championship.
There are a bunch of SEC schools and programs afraid Lane will turn LSU into a monster. 2 of the coaches that won National Championships are coaches the other SEC programs would say were not even elite.
LSU is by far the premier college baseball program.
The football program success not linked to coaches is only rivaled by Ohio State in the country. That is what they are worried about.
