How many LSU fans are sad that you didn't hire Saban instead of Kiffin?
Thinking if he could just come and beat Bama, and maybe win one more title for LSU it would irk all the Tide fans.

Nah, we appreciate the national championships he brought us and his contributions in recruitment after he retired. That has really been bugging y'all for 20 years

I watched the relevant portion of the video. Ok, great. So Finebaum heard from a guy who heard that Saban said he could have won more at LSU than he did at Alabama. Go ahead and build that statue, I guess. You guys can have the world where LSU has all of the things that could make it the most successful, prestigious school in college football history. I guess I will have to be satisfied living in the world where Alabama is the most successful, prestigious school in college football history.

It’s such a weird obsession with Saban by LSU. Desperate to validate themselves on the coat tails of Saban and the dynasty of Alabama.

lol Lane hasn't beaten Alabama at 2 different SEC schools now. I wouldn't expect any different results now that he is at his 3rd stop

This place would be unbearable if Saban had stayed at LSU and won 6+ titles.

On a scale of 1 to 100 just how insecure are LSU fans about Saban leaving LSU?
Must be 110+.... Good grief.

The video can be 2 hours long and it's not going to tell Bama fans anything they don't already know. That's the point. Saban regrets leaving LSU, he's said that many times over. He should have never gone to the pro's, he's said that many times over. However, the irony in his mistake of going to the pro's is it made him a better coach than the one that would have stayed at LSU. He's preached it over and over and over that by the time he got to Alabama he was a much different coach than he was before.
I don't know what LSU fans are trying to accomplish or validate by continuing to want to go down this road. You can feel proud that he admits "I shouldn't have left LSU". That's something to make you feel good. But other things can be equally true along side that statement. Like he doesn't regret taking the job at Alabama, he loves Alabama, and him making the mistake of leaving LSU made him a coach he never would have been if he would have stayed. All of those things can be true at the same time. This isn't a contest. The guy came to Alabama, rolled off the greatest football dynasty in college football history and has retired. There's really nothing left of significance to discuss. Yet, LSU fans just keep wanting to go down this conversational road for some reason.

Finebaum said Saban thought it would have been 8+. Some of you guys need to watch before you start bitching like little housewives of the SEC.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. The reality is he won 1 at LSU, and 6 at Alabama.
He left you, that’s what happened.
Now, the field in Tuscaloosa is named after him, and Bama has had the 2 greatest coaches in the history of this sport.
Any other things that almost happened but didn’t that you’d like to talk about?

Saban's last 3 seasons at LSU he went 8-5, 13-1, 9-3. Sounds good. Every season he had at LSU outside of 2003 was worse than any season he had at Alabama post-2007.
But sure.

This is amazing revisionist history!! Hell, he might have won that many Super Bowls and never came to Alabama if he would have gotten Drew Breeze as his qb at the Dolphins like he thought he was going to. Are y'all going to claim them?

They've been eaten up with jealousy ever since 2007 to the point that they have created this elaborate fantasy world where everyone else is jealous of them. Have you ever noticed that nothing about LSU is ever just "good," it's always "the greatest?" They have "the greatest" home field advantage in sports despite getting absolutely buttfricked by their biggest rival there. They are "the greatest" job in college football despite being, at best, a Top 15 program historically. Lane Kiffin is now "the greatest" coach in college football despite quite clearly being not that. Their 2019 team is "the greatest" despite fielding an average-at-best defense. On and on and on. The only thing about them that is actually "the greatest" is their Short Man Complex.

Question for bama and lsu fans, Saban obviously had a lot of say in the bama hire a couple years ago. Kiffin couldn't even get them to answer his calls but Saban has been clearly selling lane on lsu and lsu on lane. Did he not think lane was good enough for bama or does he think Lane would have won multiple championships there and hurt saban's legacy? I don't think Saban trusted lane with what he built at bama.

Bama fan insecurity about Saban helping Lane to get to LSU - 111+
Aggie insecurity about LSU and Bama not caring about them - 112+

Kiffin is riding a bit of a recency bias wave right now.

lol! It is the fantasy of an alternative reality that is mind-boggling to me.
It’s a big time program, sure. No question. Lots of success in the last 25 years.
But the need to coattail is pathetic.
