Makes no sense for Georgia to pass Alabama but not Texas. Georgia should be 3 or 5. If they pass Bama, they should have passed Texas. I have absolutely no problem with Georgia being 3.
Doesn’t really make sense that they jump a 2-loss team that beat them but stay behind another 2-loss team (who finished the season the same way Alabama did)

Stupid to put UGA ahead of Bama for obvious reasons...but it really doesn't matter. Beating a crippled team by a bunch must have really impressed voters.
So a group of people got together in a room and ranked teams on the “eye test” regardless of record and decided who the 4 “best” teams were and you probably agreed with their choices.
In a similar way, another group of people decided, based on the “eye test” who the final Top 25 teams were, but now you disagree.
How can you have a problem with that?

So we beat Georgia and take Michigan to OT in our last two games and….. nvm only a few here will accept that argument.
Number of losses matters. And while being close to Michigan does matter, UGA being close in their loss to you and then beating the crap out of #6 FSU also matters.

Y’all won the SECCG. And beat Ole Miss.
Other than that, Bama looked very mortal.

Maybe they think Alabama was LUCKY to beat Georgia.

Mizzou lost to common opponent LSU. Their OOC schedule was worse / no better than OM. I guess a moral victory against UGA gets you the higher ranking?
Don’t get raped and publicly humiliated in the biggest game of your year.

It's the recency bias of polls. We lost more recently than they did. Same with UGA and Bama.

I thought the NC loser was placed #2.

Sounds like your mad the Texas has a higher AP poll finish in Sark's 3rd year than A&M has had since 1936.

I guess Bama wasn’t one of the best four teams after all…

Six SEC teams in the final poll to lead all conferences. Seven OOC wins against teams that finished ranked. Even in a down year the SEC was still probably the best conference.

At the end of the day, for the rest of eternity ...
1. 1525 BIG Michigan (Unanimous)
2. 1459 PAC Washington
3. 1356 B12 Texas
4. 1328 SEC Georgia
5. 1321 SEC Alabama
Basically 7 more voters picked Georgia over Alabama.

Texas was/is way way overrated. They should have never been in the playoffs. Powder puff big 12 schedule and they couldn’t even get through the only two lowly ranked Okie and Okie lite games undefeated.

SMU loses to unranked Boston College (7-6) in the Fenway Bowl and is higher than Liberty who lost to #6 Oregon (12-2) in the NY6 Fiesta Bowl.
Makes complete sense.
