Favorite Third Saturday in October game?

I don’t know why this stuck with me but I remember it.
Back in 2008 somewhere near Birmingham, a mobile home caught on fire. Inside was a young elementary school kid and his grandmother. The kid tried getting his grandma out of bed, but apparently she was unconscious from the smoke inhalation. The boy climbed up in the bed and died beside her. The boy was a big Alabama fan and he kept a picture of his favorite player on his desk. That player was our former RB Roy Upchurch.
When Roy’s mom heard about this story, she told Roy. When we went up to Knoxville that Saturday, Roy wrote the kids name on his wrist tape. Roy scored the last touchdown of the game. Bama won 29-9 in Fulmer’s last TSIO game.

I was gonna say mount Cody but alright
Side note as much as I hate it I’m okay with y’all winning the natty in 2011 after over a decade. The story about your players girlfriend being picked up by the tornado is awful. I wish no one had been harmed and your stadium got destroyed though.

Definitely last season watching Tennessee use the officials to beat Alabama for the first time since the days of Myspace.

2022 was the best game I’ve ever watched. Period. In all of football.

Yup. Despite the shitty refs gifting Alabama a touchdown, last years game was incredible

shitty refs were the cause of the mass brawl at the end of the first game in 1901.
quote:
1901 was the first meeting between the two teams. It ended early in a 6–6 tie, when fans rushed onto the field after a controversial offside call and the umpires were unable to clear out the crowd in the second half. In the game, J. L. Broug scored for Tennessee and A. W. Stewart scored for Alabama.

2022 has to be it, but 2003 was pretty good, too.

All that bama lost are tied for first, although I have this new found hatred of Tennessee that a few alters have created

Penn St/Ohio state should be a good one

1999. Tennessee just physically pummeled Alabama in the second half. Probably the most underrated win of Fulmer’s career.

1986 game, Bobby Humphrey toss sweep game... 1986 Tennessee vs # 2 Alabama (YT) full game
(/quote]KNOXVILLE, Tenn. All-American tailback Bobby Humphrey ran for 217 yards and three touchdowns as second-ranked Alabama ended a four-game series losing streak with 56-28 win over rival Tennessee at Neyland Stadium on Oct. 18, 1986.
Humphrey 217 rushing yards is the sixth-highest total in school history and the most ever against a Tennessee defense.
The toss sweep was the Crimson Tide bread-and-butter on this day against the Vols and Alabama offensive wall allowed the Tide ground-gainers to churn out 457 rushing yards on 58 attempts.
Four different players scored rushing touchdowns. In addition to Humphrey, back-up tailback Gene Jelks ran 14 times for 89 yards and one TD, while fullback Bo Wright contributed 13 carries for 83 yards and one TD.
That was mighty sweet, a jubilant Alabama head coach Ray Perkins said after the game.
That is the biggest win we have had in a long time. Our team did a great job today.
Senior quarterback Mike Shula threw only six passes for 78 yards, but two were for touchdowns.
He also added 21 rushing yards and one TD.[/quote]

Yeah last year was hard to top.
I'd have to go back to some of those Fulmer vs Gene Stalling matchups to find something comparable.
