Maker's and coke is great. Same with woodford. That is no doubt my favorite.
I keep trying to improve my whisky acquired taste... woodford over ice, once each time I get a bottle. I still haven't gotten to the point that i "like" it, but I get a little closer each time.
I think mostly I want to be able to tolerate it enough while a couple of my other buddies do that. If all you bastards would stop trying so hard to be sharp and tough I could appreciate my damn whisky and coke without judgement!

Took me a while but I got there.
I keep my good bourbon at room temperature and pour it over a couple of cubes.

If you're gonna add coke to whiskey, you might as well get a cheaper whiskey.
A friend of mine once tried to add coke to a glass of 15 year old Scotch that I poured for him. I kicked him the frick out of my house.

Yeah, I definitely can't cool/freeze my liquor. I know several that do... it is very obviously not as good. I'm not professional taster or whatever, but it chokes out that good warm taste you're supposed to get. Idk why cubes don't do that to it as much.
First part of a football game is the perfect time for me to sort of like it. I've already had a few... football is on and i'll be in a damn good mood. Damn, I can not freaking wait for the first slow smoke of the year.

In my house, you drink Scotch like a man or you get kicked the frick out. It's in the bylaws.
