And it should be extra shamed for parks in areas where it is not hard to grow grass and you have plenty of money and support for the program.

Looking at you Vanderbilt.

Agreed. Grass you could at least make the argument of weather making it difficult to maintain up north. There's literally no excuse for fake dirt. It's just lazy.

Our pitchers sucked in general this year. But, they seemed to have a lot of difficulty on those fake arse mounds.

It takes something away from the game. Can you imagine turf at Yankee Stadium, Dodger Stadium or Wrigley Field?

So we can pay college athletes millions of dollars, but we have schools claiming they have to play baseball on fake turf?

And to add to that, we can have grass on football fields, but not on the baseball field.

I don't like it but I see why northern school use it. Don't like it anywhere grass should be. But it needs to be dirt everywhere dirt should be. We use it outside the foul lines and home plate. I don't like it at home plate but it's a maintenance issue and it surely takes less time to prepare.

It is truly a disgrace. There is a high A affilliate of the Marlins close to where I live and even though they could have grass, they have turf so the Marlins prospects get used to playing on turf. But the hilarious thing about it is they still have this groundskeeper guy who goes out and "mows" it on a riding mower my hand to god. I have no idea why.
