I considered disagreeing but no one in their right mind would try to question the opinion of someone with 25k posts on an internet forum when it comes to education value.

Thanks for your expertise!

meaningless platitude

I agree that there are plenty of those.

To me, the most confusing of all of them is the seemingly compulsory "prayers to the family". Why would you pray to someone's family?

One of the most ignorant things ever written on the rant. Jesus what a stupid think to say.

NYT wrote an article that I'm trying to link but it basically said getting a degree from a University such as Auburn, UGA, Bama puts you in the top 1% in the world for education.

You never paid for an education, did you? If you had, you would know what it cost for Room, board, tuition and books. All that combined is worth much more than most people make in a year. But if mooma and daddy is paying for or did pay for your education, you would know/appreciate this.

If people want to feel sad about something, they should be sad that a kid got injured playing for a program that basically gives him nothing in return. He pours all of his time and energy into playing for a program that exploits these players to make money. I'm not sad that Jonathan Williams got injured. I'm sad that he now has to undergo major surgery to fix an injury he got playing for free. And don't give me that bullshite about how these players receive a college education in return for their sacrifice. None of the schools in the SEC except for Vanderbilt offer an education worth a shite.

People always leave out that these kids are getting 45 weeks of free personal training a year with some of the best coaches in the training game. free massages and access to free nutrition supplements. Additionally, these kids who make the nfl get 3-5 years of free training on the field. These kids who are good will also never have to buy a drink in that city for as long as they live. In addition to free schooling

Not saying it is equal value but athletes don't live like normal kids and are not treated like they are being exploited

You really believe that someone who spends their life talking shite about opposing teams suddenly feels bad when a star player gets injured? They don't.

I think most people talk shite about Arkansas because of shite stirring trolls like yourself, so yeah it's pretty easy to respect and feel bad for a good kid who doesn't play for my team.

I imagine it would for a great many American universities. Even if thousands upon thousands receive degrees each year think of the billions of people around the world who never even get an opportunity to step foot on a university campus in their own country, let alone in the U.S.

Why is it always so sappy? I've seen people today who say they're praying for Jonathan Williams and his family. Please.

I actually agree with this. No one want's to see an injury, and I think it's a given that people ultimately hold even rival players in high regard but it certainly gets way too flowery.

Really, this? I get the point that when it's not your team you may overstate how badly you feel when you probably don't mean it. I love JWill as a hog and he's a great guy from all accounts, I wish him a complete and speedy recovery. However, I don't feel badly at all about how you deem him to be exploited. He's good enough so he can make money at the next level- he's in college now and they don't get paid and I'm glad since it's COLLEGE. He's getting an education and he'll have that to rely on after his football days are gone, that's what college is for. It's a shame people forget that.

Keeping it real- I hate it for him and I hate it for me as a fan.

You should be banned Stonehog for trying to bait other teams' fans into making banworthy comments. I see your attempt for what it is.

As others have said, you should feel bad.

You might be the only person I've ever seen complain about wishing condolences for an injured player.

Why are you such a miserable person?
