So she continued to see Davis even after he fractured her ribs? I just don't understand these women who do that.

Until some actual allegations are made against him.

Not really sure what he could've done even if he did know.

That's a next-level stupid remark.

No woman should stick with any man who abuses her; their races are irrelevant.

LSU continues losing, and they will come out ... I know several LSU boosters who have not been so smug this past month or so as they used to be

There is already talk about replacing O, or forcing him to make changes

This has nothing to do with LSU losing.

Look I'm more than willing to give O the benefit of the doubt. This stuff is getting closer and closer to home though. I haven't heard one recent statement that he didn't know of any allegation. Sure he read pre wrote statement lawyer dripping statement but we have yet to see him adamantly deny any involvement.

Thats what everyone does.

Again, there isnt much he can do just based on an allegation even if he knows about the allegation.

So the tennis player dated Drake Davis for a year, got beaten up 6 times or so by him during that period allegedly and stayed with him in a relationship despite this until one of them ended the relationship after a year.

The player maintains that the tennis coach was supposed to do something about this even though the tennis player voluntarily kept returning to her abusive relationship with Davis and she was an adult at the time. I'm not sure what this coach's intervention would have looked like had it happened, but I am imagining a mess either way.

When battered woman syndrome (BWS) manifests as PTSD, it consists of the following symptoms: (a) re-experiencing the battering as if it were recurring even when it is not, (b) attempts to avoid the psychological impact of battering by avoiding activities, people, and emotions, (c) hyperarousal or hypervigilance, (d) disrupted interpersonal relationships, (e) body image distortion or other somatic concerns, and (f) sexuality and intimacy issues.[10]

Additionally, repeated cycles of violence and reconciliation can result in the following beliefs and attitudes:[11]

The abused thinks that the violence was their fault.
The abused has an inability to place the responsibility for the violence elsewhere.
The abused fears for their life, and/or, the lives of loved ones whom the abuser might or has threatened to harm (e.g., children-in-common, close relatives, or friends).
The abused has an irrational belief that the abuser is omnipresent and omniscient.

I think if someone is going to use that as the reason for their poor decision making then all accountability should be taken away. But then we have to put them on a national registry as someone who is not able to be accountable for their actions so you can look someone up prior to dating them and see if they are on that list. Then you know that you are basically dating someone with a child's IQ.

First of all, frick LSU.

“While Davis continued...” Did Davis kidnap her and hold her hostage? Vic reports abuse to authority and continues to see the abuser?

Sure, compliance f’d up not investigating the first allegation. But she continued the relationship? WTH???

As stated earlier, battered woman/wife syndrome is a thing.

frick, I'm walking proof of it. I still pull for the Braves and UGA.

I read through the long thread on TigerRant that you posted quite a bit about this. Terrible situation, but your points, explanations and take on it were excellent stuff.

I hope everyone who did this kid wrong is punished, but I hope LSU is able to figure it out and move on without the whole thing burning down. Just a crappy situation.

It call came down to this:

Self preservation for some, and pride for others

That what will cause the entire house to come crumbling down

It's incredible how often those simple things trip up people in all walks of life - from the most powerful to the least.

I haven't heard anything that really implicates O or really anyone in the football program itself outside of Player X's "feeling" and it seeming like Mickey knew about Davis.

Will there be trouble on that front?
