This reads like the victim, parents, abuser, police, courts, LSU coaches and administration were all trying to win a stupidity contest.

Well, this isn’t good.
quote:
"The LSU Women's Tennis coach, Julia Sell, released a statement claiming she had no knowledge of the allegations made by my teammate and I," Lewis wrote. "The statement is a blatant lie. Four members of the LSU Tennis Team separately made Coach Sell aware of these events between May 2017 and August 2018. These women would be willing to confirm this information and corroborate my story, as one already has in the USA Today article. Additionally, my parents called during that time span to express their concern, and my coaches brushed them off. Lastly, I would like to add that during the criminal case regarding the allegations I made, Coach Sell instructed the tennis team to stay away from me. These were my teammates and closest friends at the time, and I needed their support.
"I was betrayed by Coach Sell, and I will not stand by and allow her to deny knowledge of what I went through, when in reality she knew the full truth and simply chose to stand by. As details of the sexual misconduct within LSU continue to come to light, my hope is that LSU Athletics changes course and decides to be transparent and remorseful rather than continuing to create cover-ups and false narratives."

Both Sells are fricked, from this and the Guice case.

The former player, Jade Lewis, 21, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, posted a statement on Twitter on Wednesday night in which she accused LSU women's tennis co-head coach Julia Sell of failing to report her allegations of being physically abused by Tigers wide receiver Drake Davis.
USA Today reported earlier this week that Davis began dating Lewis, who was unnamed in the article, in January 2017. Lewis reportedly told police and USA Today that Davis left her bruised or bleeding on at least six occasions during the year in which they dated.
USA Today reported that at least seven LSU officials "had direct knowledge" that Davis was physically abusing his girlfriend but "they sat on the information for months, while Davis continued to assault and strangle her."
Who are the alleged seven officials?

The Guise case is the one that stings the LSU athletic dept the worst. Others were dismissed perhaps not in a timely fashion but dismissed at some point.

If this isn't a clear case of lack of institutional control I don't know what is.
NCAA really needs to make a clear example of LSU and it's entire athletic program.

Drake Davis was kicked off the team and from all accounts his gf refused to cooperate and vehemently defended him every time something was done to try and help her. Obviously i dont know all the details but I would be focusing more on the rape stuff.

Facts are until elite athletes are held as accountable by authorities as a “normal” individual would be this will continue to be a problem and as in the case with Guise the behavior apparently continues when it goes unchecked increasing their sense of invulnerability.

Yep. Guice is a POS. Cant imagine how his victims felt when they had to see him breaking school rushing records and then get drafted in the league

Once again, the UsaToday, and SECrant as well, only fricked up in trying to make this about LSU football and Orgeron
This is a legit fricked up story, but it sits with the LSU womens tennis coaches and some high up lsu admin officials

I would have said Guice was worse as well- I don’t know much about Davis what is that story?

It just went far deeper into the LSU admin than Guice's issues have been alleged to, also way more incidents and looking the other way. Also, some of the incidents were actually witnessed by others.

My thoughts on this FWIW, as posted yesterday:
quote:
[...]football is king, and drives revenue for clicks.
When a top program in this sport is involved, there is a perceived opportunity to bring the whole system down, and some media members come out of the woodwork to further link those two together (as we have already seen).
That's why I think the university needs to act swiftly here, either to demonstrate what they did was proper, or issue consequences if it was not.
If this continues to drag out, they will hammer the deepest pockets the hardest, and that will inevitably be those associated with football, whether the fault lies within other areas of the athletic program or not.

I think the Davis issue is the bigger deal to be honest.

Not defending Guice but some of the details are sketchy in the accusations against him. For instance, one of the girls claims to not even remember what happened.
In the Davis case, its clear that he was constantly beating the shite out of his girlfriend. The evidence was there and it was witnessed by others. He even admitted to it in a text message to an LSU admin.
ETA: Just saying its a way more black and white case with Davis, not he said she said. Again, not defending Guice at all.
