Florida's losses

Posted by machismo64 on 12/2/24 at 11:44 am
They lost to:
Miami
Texas A&M
Tennessee
Georgia
Texas

They beat
LSU
Ole Miss

They had a pretty good team this year despite losing 5 games. You had to roll in with a good team to beat them.
Yes, Gainesville is closer to Boca Raton than Oxford, MS is but it is still a 4.5 hour drive between Gainesville and Boca.

Depends on whether they are the Alabama that needed a miracle to get by Auburn or the Alabama that beat Georgia.

LSU Season--summary and perspective

Lost 3 games to teams that between them lost a total of three games.

The defense was a disaster of course but you still had to trot out a really good team to beat LSU this year despite this because the offense was so good.

The Missouri win looks pretty good in retrospect as they only dropped one other game all year and that was to #1 Georgia.

The near loss to Ole Miss doesn't look so bad. Ole Miss' only losses were to Alabama and Georgia.

The blowout loss to Florida State? Well, nobody else on their schedule beat them either.
Georgia has climbed to dizzying new heights while Clemson, for a while a juggernaut, is back near its historical mean.

I don't follow recruiting carefully but is this mostly explained by recruits that would have gone to Clemson going to Georgia instead? I know Clemson pulled a lot of talent out of Georgia when they were riding high.

Nasty Defense

In the off season, there were a lot of people who looked at our Defense front 7 and said that they were going be "nasty".

I took that word and phrase to mean something different than what I see on the field now.

I wonder what Tucker actually did.
No. They both stole it from Hester Prynne.
Rauf says the Klan burned down his house.

After two years and construction problems (shoddy construction it appears--ceiling collapse--sheetrock problems etc), and his girlfriend not willing to moving in, there was a fire. Rauf claims that he saw KKK spray-painted there in the past.

Then it burned down.

A skeptical man might say he lit a match to burn his problems away.

Rauf says KKK without a doubt.

If so, maybe Rauf needs to buy the Klan boys a thank you card.

Interesting definition of "shut down" as the score was 51-45.

LSU made it once as a two loss team when they were only picking two (and won it all). Why on earth couldn't a two loss team make it when they double the number of teams to 4?

Vegas isn't picking a winner.
It is predicting what line will draw an equal amount of money bet on both sides. That is the only thing the line is.

Not a single mention of the porous OL. OK!

On the plays here, there is only one really bad play by an offensive lineman who fails to handle a stunt properly. For the rest, they played well.

We haven’t seen halftime adjustments at LSU in 20 years. Les made adjustments by trying to find a different square peg to pound into a round hole in the second half.

That isn't what equity is.
Equity is intentional unequal treatment to hurt and cower you and help favored groups because that is what power wants.

Equity is exactly ruining a white person for the blasphemy of uttering a word forbidden to them while doing as near nothing as possible when blacks murder whites. It is the official ideology of every major institution in America. This is why every major institution in America must be overthrown or ground into dust.

Southern and LSU Band Performances

Posted by machismo64 on 9/17/22 at 7:18 am
It seems to be the consensus that Southern's band performed more entertainingly than LSU's though some say LSU's playing was technically better.

I don't see a lot of marching bands as they don't usually show them on TV much, but I thought the part of LSU's performance where it looked like a couple dancing (starting at 10:25) was one of the coolest looking things I have seen a marching band do.

Andrei Kirilenko disapproves.
Southeastern Missouri is part of the south. It was settled from Tennessee and Kentucky by Scots-Irish.

Southwest Missouri has a more western feel as you get into the Ozarks. It has a more in common (unsurprisingly) with Eastern Oklahoma and Northwestern Arkansas than it has with Southeast Missouri.

Central and Northern Missouri, settled more by Germans and from the Midwest are more like the rest of the Midwest.

Missouri, like many states, has varied identities.
It is part southern and part other things.

I have lived in the Birmingham area for 21 years now.
I only go to Birmingham for the annual auto show, to visit people in hospitals, to go to the airport, and to go to church because the only Latin Mass parish in the diocese is in the West End.

That part you drive through when going from New Orleans to Atlanta isn't where we raise our families.
