I have never heard that it is standard practice for a woman to stay with a man who beats her.
Then you're really young or living in a cave. It is sadly the norm. Ask any first responder what happens when they go to a DV (domestic violence) call.
The victim is often begging the officers not to arrest the offender. Most often they do it anyhow and guess who bails him (or her, but more often him) out? Yep, the victim.
Now guess who doesn't show up for court, refuses to testify, or outright testifies for the defense? Yep, the victim again.
Don't ask me why, I don't know but what he said about it being pretty standard is the absolute gold plated truth.

It’s pretty hard to see LSU escaping a LOIC charge. And we will have earned it. Obviously that is secondary to getting the house in order so students are better protected from, and admins are more adept at handling this type of shite. LSU needs to act harshly and decisively when the investigation is completed.

Nope, the fact she refused to press charges and defended him every time someone brought it up to her. Look at my post after that. Its obvious im not trying to make excuses for LSU. Think a little bit dipshit

Louisiana governor comments on LSU's alleged abuse scandal (247Sports, segment)
quote:
LSU football is a hallmark of the state. With that being said, it’s no surprise that Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards weighed in Thursday afternoon.
“Let’s be clear: every act of sexual violence and abuse is unacceptable,” the governor released in a statement. “The allegations and accusations presented in the USA Today story are deeply troubling. LSU must conduct a thorough, independent and transparent investigation of the serious issues that have been raised. If this investigation finds any wrongdoing or concludes that violence or misconduct, there should be significant consequences. Nothing is more important than the safety of all members of LSU’s community.
“It is necessary that LSU addresses these issues promptly to protect its students and to assure the trust and confidence of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and the larger LSU community.”
