A fun example of why stats (particularly early season stats) can be misleading.

Klubnik - 520 yards passing, 5 TD, 1 INT, 2 TD run
Ewers - 506 yards passing, 6 TD, 1 INT, 0 TD run

I think Lane's secondary mission this year is to get Dart the trophy. This is a good spot throw a spare hundo if you have it.

Even more fun.

Carson Beck is the only one of those three with positive rushing yard (Ewers at -6 and Klubnik at -12 while Beck is at +37). Who here actually thinks Beck is the biggest running threat of the 3?

Ewers is legit. I don't like Texas but they have an elite play caller/schemer, a great qb, nice rbs, and some elite weapons.

This is why I think it will be a struggle for Ewers to win it. Our SOS is pretty weak this year outside of Georgia and Sark tends to go super conservative/ball control run-out-the-clock mode in the 2nd half if the game is under control.

This isn't the Big XII Texas where the defense kinda sucks and we're getting in high scoring shoot-outs and the QB puts up video game numbers as a result. I have a feeling if Ole Miss keeps playing well and Lane has Dart out there slinging it all over the place for 4 quarters, you're gonna get voters just looking at the stat sheet at the end of the year.

Isn't he old enough to be starting his second year of NFL clipboard holding? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but seems like he's been in CFB forever.

You’re thinking of someone else. I’m pretty sure this is only his third season in college football.

Yeah, so I get sports rivalries, but sheesh. That kind of hate eats you up if it is for real.
