Even as an Ole Miss fan, I'm surprised no one has transferred from Ole Miss yet

I didn't expect Ole Miss to enter fall practice without any attrition related to the bowl ban. For his faults, Freeze and Luke have done a really good job keeping the players from leaving.

Players still on the payroll until the NCAA drops the hammer

Exactly. And the teams that actually know how to cheat are deciding how much each player is worth to them before the bidding war commences.

If the NCAA only hands down a one year bowl ban (which is still possible, though unlikely IMO), then why would players transfer? We could have a decent season this year because of our offense, and if we only have one year ban, then we could literally pick up where we left off next year.

Furthermore, if the NCAA only hands down a one year ban, then every player that transfers would have to sit out a year. That doesn't help them.

I believe that if players start to transfer due to NCAA penalties, it won't be until next year, unless the NCAA drops the hammer in the worst way.

If it were my team, though, I'd prefer having them leave sporadically rather than in a mass exodus...which is probably what's gonna happen. I would imagine they are waiting until they know they can transfer and be immediately eligible.

I imagine you won't see many transfers until sanctions officially come down, as players may have an opportunity to apply for transfer and immediate play eligibility vs. Sitting out a year.

This, there's been no great reason to transfer knowing if the NCAA comes down hard enough they can transfer and play right away elsewhere vs. sitting out. At this point they'll get this last season at Ole Miss then after the season once the sanctions come down you'll see the mass exodus since they'll get the waiver to play right away.

Not surprising to me at all thus far there hasn't been a mass exodus, no reason to leave until you dont have to sit out.

Why are you surprised? The only people who been fed more Kool-Aid and lied to more than rebel fans are rebel players. Go back and read player comments regarding what they have been told about this investigation. It's sad

I doubt we get 2 year bowl ban. The players know that they are building Something special!

This is by far the most delusional post I've seen in a while! The only thing Ole Miss is building, is a pile of shite!

It makes sense

They didn't go to Ole Miss to win championships anyway.

It'll be hard to build without bricks. I've seen it with my own eyes as a fan of a team on crippling probation. It won't be pretty by 2018-2019, and will take another 3 yrs after the sanctions are over before y'all field a team with depth.

You can't transfer at this point without sitting out a year. Players that transfer now are ones that know they wont be playing much in coming years. We are well below the scholarship limit.

Think of this as if you were an old Miss player:

Starter/upper classman: "if I transfer, I will be behind anyone already at that program, I may have to sit a year, I won't know the coaches or system or school. If I stay at OM, I will still be a starter, still be in a system, school where I am recognized, appreciated, and will have the chance to be on the field playing against the best in the SEC and noticed by the NFL."

Sub: "If I transfer, I will be behind a whole lot of people, I may have to sit a year, won't know the coaches or system or school or other players. If I stay I may have a chance for much more playing time against the best in the SEC, if recruitment lags and depth gets shallow therefore will have the chance to be on the field."

Recruit: "If I go to ole Miss I will be going to a team that is probably going to be thin in depth so might have an early chance playing against the best in the SEC. Besides the coeds are incredibly good looking and slutty and the pay is excellent."

Conclusion: You will not see mass transfers or significant fall off in recruitment, and may actually see improvement.

If you are given 30 players over 4 years by the 4th year you will only have 55 players on scholarship. You will lose 10-15 in the sr class.
That leaves 40-45 on scholarship. You can only sign 25
It will take years to get back to 85.

CHF and your administration have put OM in the desert for years to come. Sorry.
