Bama was up 21-6 at one point and held a lead a halftime.

People may turn that on you and say from that point on, it was 36-14 Ohio State.

Turnovers were huge in the game (always big but larger in this one), with OSU's 2 leading to 14 Bama points and Bama having 1 that led directly to a defensive TD. OSU moved the ball at will through the first 3 quarters, then really only had 1 good play the entire 4th.

I would say OSU was 10 points? 14 was probably too wide a margin but OSU's safety bit up with 2 minutes left for no reason that gave Bama a 50 yard gain

But I just don't see the same amount of talent as in years before.

Good. Then you won't mind another down vote.

We just couldn't get off the field.
OSU exposed the Tide's relative lack of speed at LB IMO, kinda like AU did. Imma assuming UA is in the middle of solving these problems & getting a little lighter & quicker up the middle on "D". It's a real balancing act to be able to shut down the middle against both "spread" & "power running" teams...

FWIW, Pruitt at UGA is looking to improve on the mirror opposite....

UGA got a little too light up the middle last year, we handled the spread type "O's" i.e...Louisville, AU, Clemson etc... pretty easily. But UF decided to run power & GT is GT, we were too light up the middle to handle their running games... Hopefully we find a happy medium too...

Our backup went 9-9 for 223 in the spring game. The offense is better around the qb. We led the nation with frosh TDs at 38 and it wasn't close.

As long as we don't have dramatic fall off at the qb spot, Oregon is in good shape. Watching verified what the coaches were saying about him all Spring.

the narrative now is that the Baylor system is plug and play for QBs

And Alabama's isn't? Last three first year starters at Alabama have records that look like this:

Greg McElroy: 14-0; SEC champs; National champs
AJ McCarron: 12-1; National champs
Blake Sims: 12-2; SEC champs

The last three QBs under Saban are a combined 38-3 in their first year as starters.

Alabama was also moving the ball well in the running game with Derrick Henry. Unfortunately the decision was made to make Blake win the game for us instead of sticking with what was working.

Ezekiel Elliott's long run also came right after an Alabama injury. Both (Alabama's 50 yard gain and Elliott's long run) came off of bad reads/bad angles.

It was a close game, but close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. I hope we will get to see a rematch this year. Alabama typically does well in rematches

Good grief that is high...

Yea, I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and was shocked we were tied (behind OSU and Bama) for the best odds at winning the title next year. I, for one, do not see it at all.

Sure hope I'm wrong though.

What all is Auburn returning?

Future NFL draft picks at every position on the OL
Excellent Rbs
NFL caliber Qb
The best Wr group we have had in years
Excellent DL
Future NFL LB core
One NFL corner
Two NFL safeties

We have a championship caliber starting lineup. Our backs however are questionable.

Elliott's long run was the result of a crushing block by a wide receiver that took out two linebackers. I don't understand why Alabama abandoned the run game either. Those sweeps to the left were devastating imo and I don't see why Kiffin gave up on them. Then again he is Lane Kiffin.

Trigga Tray isn't an NFL safety IMO. Lacks elite speed

That settles it then. He most definitely will be a NFL safety.

I haven't seen an opponent block that well on the perimeter. Your H back was great.

Dont kid yourself. He is every bit as fast as Collins and plays with the same style.

We all know that if he was playing for UGA you would be singing a different tune

SDH (freshman)/Reuben Foster were no replacement for Reggie Ragland. Kudos to Urban for seeing that hole and calling the right play. Urban called a brilliant game.

Kiffin gonna Kiffin. I hope if we are ever in that position again Nick Saban overrides Kiffin. I miss being a power run team.
