If Ohio St. loses a regular season game this season, they should be embarrassed. Have you seen that cupcake schedule?

I'm shocked the hogs are ranked at all, even after the good finish. In cautiously optimistic though

The SEC doesn't have the signal callers to claim that Ohio State is their only competition. I thought last year was bad for SEC signal callers but this year may one up it.

Michigan State should be in the top 5 and it is insane that they are ranked behind USC and Baylor. There is no way that either one of those teams should be ranked ahead of them, especially Baylor.

They have some issues though. Cornerback doesn't look strong and that scheme relies heavily on cover corners. Losing Nard could be a big blow.

Also, they lost their top two runningbacks and Lippett was head and shoulders the best skill guy on the team. The have a deep stable but I don't think a playmaker has emerged. They also lose some key offensive linemen but their fanbase seems to think the unit will still be strong. However, the fanbase thinks their system is plug and play too.

What makes me worried about the trip out their is the front seven. It could be their best ever.

Our schedule is the worst I've seen since I've followed the team since 2000. For our sake, we better hope that the teams we play in November are ranked and our schedule becomes backloaded with ranked Michigan State, Michigan and Nebraska/Wisconsin (B1G Championship Game).

Baylor lost QB and practically no one else. Did you watch the Cotton bowl? the preposterous series of events that led to a one point victory in the final minute of the game merits a ranking above Baylor in the final polls of the relevant year, (which they got)

it in no way justifies ranking ahead in a projective preseason ranking. learn to college sports.

I would probably put Baylor in front of Michigan State. I also would have Oregon down around 7. I can't figure out why Arizona is 13 either. They are a good team but not top 15.

USC has to prove they can win more than 8 with Sark as well.

The PAC - 12 is deep but there isn't a team that just stands out. Oregon could be that team but Vernon Adams would have to transition well.

Here is their schedule

LINK

The first team they play worth a shite is in late november. I realize they can't control how good most of their opponents are, but with that schedule they shouldnt' be rewarded for losing 1. If an SEC team makes the playoff they will have likely played 4-6 tough games. OSU only playing 2 tough games, their last 2, is basically a free pass.

It's a little early to say that @VT is worth shite. VaTech looked really good in their bowl game and the team was young.

Where did I ever suggest that the bowl game had anything to do with my opinion? The fact that the defense is still a complete joke is the reason why yall should not be ranked in the top 5.

Meh, they may not be LOUSY but I wouldn't really call them all that good. They went 7-6 last year and 3-5 in the ACC, includign losses to boston college and wake. And not that this means ANYTHING at all, but you'll see that they aren't even thought favorably enough to be ranked as of right now.

OSU basically has a 2 game season, the first of which is the 11th game of the season (at home) and the other is a team wiht a first year head coach.

It's pretty bad schedule. I am not even sure Michigan is a good team at this point.

Keep in mind these are all assumptions to begin the season. No one knows how Minnesota will be. If Penn State will be back to the team they were in the past this year (not expecting an 08' version of PSU to walk into the stadium but definitely not the 2013 version that got annihilated).

That doesn't defend our schedule because the OOC are so weak but still a but early to say its a two game season. Can't help that we're stuck in a shite conference...

Baylor is ranked #6. I don't know what we're yelling about.
