Falling Up the Stairs:

Police initially described the death of 65-year-old Logan Young as a bloody slaying after a fierce struggle but quit calling it a homicide a day later indicating he fell carrying a salad bowl. The story about what happens when you threaten to turn in Alabama, Logan found out the hard way. With special interviews by Tommy Gallion, TennStud..

You better hold the rope on that one.

ETA: actually, "Hold the Rope" would be a good title.

For Auburn, glad they are doing one on Bo...

As far as scandal, etc. I think the Eric Ramsey Story, it was Auburn's darkest hour and we were certainly guilty of some violations. But I doubt the true story could or would be portrayed.

The racial times played into it, getting on 60 minutes, how it was orchestration by Donald Watkins, Twill-eta, where is Eric now and why his own son will not speak to him..

"What if I told you that courage was a brash basketball coach that told the Governor and Legislature to stick it? What if players sneaking out wasn't just for a Saturday night, but for a lot more. One Night in March...the 1963 Mississippi State basketball team"

I'd make a 30 for 30 documentary on the 1966 Alabama team and how they got screwed out of a three-peat.

First you split in 1965 with Michigan State and second you would have been beaten by Notre Dame and especially destroyed by an integrated MIchigan State team. MSU would have beaten you in a 56-0 blowout.

That's cute. The fact remains, 66 Bama was a two time defending national champion who was the only undefeated/untied team remaining. They also had 2 more wins than ND or Mich St did. It was a political vote by northern selectors and west coast selectors with the racial turmoil going on in the South.

Ha-ha. Maybe it was because an integrated MSU team had better players? MSU or ND would have beaten Alabama in 1965 and 1966.

Maybe it's because voters tried to keep a southern team from winning it the two previous years by changing the system. The civil rights movement was going on and northern press and west coast press were looking down on the south. They did everything to keep Bama from winning it the two previous yrs. When they went undefeated in 66, winning 2 more games than ND or Mich St, they just outright put the screws to Bama in favor of a northern team. It's like I said in this new playoff proposal, the south is getting too powerful for the northern and west coast folks, so their solution is to try to leave the southern teams out if possible. Same dance, different song.

SO are you saying that the voters sometimes get it wrong? If that is the case are all NC tainted when there is controversy? Should we all be able to claim NC when we go undefeated in the SEC? So which was the biggest mistake, Alabama 66 or Auburn in 04???

No. I'm saying there was northern bias going on towards southern schools due to the civil rights movement, specifically Alabama because of George Wallace.

No. Or do you mean undefeated for the season, playing in the SEC?

Bama 66. 2 time defending National Champions concluded their season undefeated/untied. Nobody else could do this. 04 Au's 2 previous seasons resulted in pretty bad losses to the team that played for and won the NC in 04. While in retrospect, Au deserved a chance to play for it, they weren't as accomplished previously to be dismissed for it.
