Still blows my mind that 6-3 Ole Miss (who had beaten Alabama and LSU in Baton Rouge) played for a 17-17 tie with 0-8-1 Miss State in Oxford in 1968.

Yep

Fourcade was the QB for OM.

I grew up in Alabama. Auburn and Alabama have a healthy respect for each other and hate each other for a week.

State and Ole Miss fans hate each other all the time. It’s a different rivalry. Makes these meaningless games a lot of fun.

And Ole Miss can go to hell.

Because people from Mississippi literally couldn't tell the difference between an old school football (that looks more like a rugby ball) and an egg. That's Mississippi for ya.

Yes because South Carolina is renowned for its intelligence.

Dak did indeed poop his pants

But one of my favorite memories was the Jaylen Walton 91 yard run in 2014

Isn't there an NC State or Miami board where your idiocy would be more welcome?

my first Egg Bowl was in 2007 when we were down by 14 with 8 minutes left. Derek Pegues grabbed a pick 6 then Adam Carlson (from Gulfport) hit the 47 yd game winner. It was Crooms greatest season. The only other I went to was the infamous ankle gate/break of Fitz. We knew from the stands that Mullen was tanking the game and running the clock out, it was very obvious.

Son of a gun I love that KJ Wright quote

KJ Wright is one of my favorite bulldogs of all time. Everyone knew that kid bled maroon and still to this day does

Bo went down as #2 all time in passing yards and #1 in total yards, but after this fumble I never forgave him

What was Dak's reasoning for changing his pants?

IIR, Lott was banned from attending Ole Miss games for life. But he's been seen as a regular so its not being enforced.

His brother was Senate Majority Leader at the time. It was big news.

Do you mean Scruggs? Lott was Senate Majority leader and was the brother in law of Dickie Scruggs. They (the Scruggs) had their name on a building but not sure which one. It was removed. But to my knowledge, nothing in the stuff was ever related to athletics so I don't know where you got that from.

Maybe I missed it but I can't believe any Ole Miss person (maybe they are all too young) mentioned the wind blown 1983 game field goal.

Pretty bizarre indeed. Archie was a Sophomore. Freshmen couldn't play back then.

Not really. If you're from a town close to both then it's more likely that half your friends cheer for the other team.

It's too bad we can't have an old egg bowl thread that always devolved into a discussion about drugs and porn.

My memories

1981: Dick Pace cost State a shot at the Cotton Bowl with the phantom pass interference.

1983: The Immaculate Deflection

1991: Games moved back to campus. Jackie started calling Ole Miss "Mississippi."

1996: The Brad Lott fiasco

1997: The pregame fight and Tuberville going for two instead of playing for overtime. That man had balls that day.

1998: Clinching Atlanta in Oxford

1999: The late Interception/FG

2001: Fant beating Eli

2007: Coming back down 14-0 in the 4th to win 17-14.

2008: The 45-0 beatdown that sealed Croom's fate

2009-11: Mullen "We're never losing to this team again"

2012: We lost to this team again

2013: Dak coming off the bench to lead comeback win in OT

2014: State shits the bed when playoff spot is on the line

2015: Dak crapping his pants in a "winner goes to the Sugar Bowl" game

2017: Ankle breaking shitbirds cost us a New Years 6 game

2018: Beatdown in Oxford, the 4th quarter fight

2019: We'll find out

ETA: Dang, that was depressing. 3 times in a 4 year period from 2014-2017, State had either a playoff or a NY6 appearance on the line and went 0-3. Big Game Dan.

He actually ripped his pants, but I know that doesn't make for the cute little "We made Dak shite his pants" stories that y'all like to tell each other to take your minds off how bad your football team is now.

Y'all made a NY6 bowl in the Orange. Why are you blaming Dan for Dak having loose bowels
