Spoken like a fan of a team who didn't make the CWS

Still think I have the most fun watching March Madness and the NFL Playoffs a ton more..but no doubt The World Cup is the most watched sporting event Worldwode...I mean Argentina vs France had 1.5 Billion watchers...that is fricking insane.

I’d rather watch CWS than a 3rd world country sport.

Soccer in the 90s/early 2000s was cool.
They made it gay with all of the scarfs...and in America it slowly became the sport of metropolitan soy boy progressives that hate mainstream anything.

True. The 1994 World Cup was the first one I paid fairly close attention to and got into while taking summer school classes at Bama. Had a professor for one class who was German. Young guy was out of cental casting for a stereotypical German guy with small lens glasses wearing leiderhosen (sp?). Guy would literally cut classes 45 minutes short to get back to his place to watch Germany in the World Cup

The bolded is scary accurate. unfortunately. Worked for several years in Mobile, AL with a colleague who was like this. He's a Mobile (AL) native who went to and graduated from Auburn. I and a handful of others got along great with him around the office but he was one of the super progressive types that always had NPR playing in the background and at the time was always bashing W Bush. Worked with him up thru most of Trump's first term and it was constant Trump bashing.
Back on topic sportwise, he was one of the types of fans that didn't dislike college football or dislike college sports in general but treated them like they were very unsophisticated sports and beneath Premier League soccer which he followed with a passion. It was almost as if he associated college football (and even the NFL to a large extent) with middle America conservative politics and because of his fondness for Europe/the EU he prefers their politics and brand of football. I admire his passion at least

Correct. They are second world counties, but heading in the wrong direction. They may be third world in another decade or so.
