We will finish 10-2. We won't lose
to Ar-Kansas.
We have 10 scholarship O-linemen.

Hating LSU and Arkansas equally, i think the OP has a point. So, i would say that yes, he's in over his head, mostly because of his proven record of horrible in-game decision making and being a players coach to the detriment of the team by giving them the idea they can do whatever they hell they want.

You said you "think" they were playing for pride.

You also "think" Arkansas will have the best offense in the SEC.

Over used and over rated statement. He has been at very elite schools where top talent go.

I could go be a coach at USC and look like a god. Just like LSU has tons of in-state talent. That's why LSU is good for 10 wins.

You mean like LSU 38 Arkansas 10 in Fayetteville? Those statistics?

This shite just goes right over you guys' heads, doesn't it? He didn't coach that team to that point last year. THIS YEAR it's HIS TEAM. Last year it was Les Miles' team.
You guys are now 12 players down from where you were a couple months ago. Also, the poster above pointing out that he is too much a players coach seems to be right on the money. His team lacks discipline. It's already evident.

Don't worry, corndogs. You'll find out soon.

Wasn't he the head coach during that game? Hmm.. I don't quite remember. Don't the statistics reflect that?

No, no, no. This is LSU fans we are talking about.

They'll talk shite to Auburn saying that their quarterback isn't proven, yet will defend Ed O, and say he's a good, when he has failed in the SEC before.

They'll also point fingers and throw out that they beat Arkansas last year. Well we are best 2/3, and 5/5 with such an elite LSU program.

Ed O won't be running the show. It's his coordinators. They came to LSU to work for such a great coach, yet if they're successful they'll be gone. No they came to LSU because there is tons of talent to get them to the next level.

LSU fans really need to think before they post because everyone else can see the big picture.

Highly doubt that happens. But if it does, right on.

His time at Ole Miss? That was what, 15 years ago?

Because all good head coaches have tremendous success in their first head coaching gigs? No coach has ever failed as a head coach at a place and later went on to be a great head coach elsewhere? Nope. Never happened ever.

Ask Saban to show you all his Super Bowl rings.

I'm not saying Ed O is going to be better than Saban. I'm just pointing out that his head coaching stint in the NFL was atrocious and he's moved on to have great success.

The fact is, we don't know what Ed O is going to do. He could be a really decent coach now. He could fall flat on his face (like Fat Bert did just trying to walk). Nobody knows what is going to happen. Let's see how this season goes.

Always worried about LSU uh

Funny this week I do not even care about other teams other than LSU

Most likely will watch BAMA play Florida State, should be a good game

No one is saying "Ed O is guaranteed to be a great HC". We are saying that he may now know his limitations. He may have learned some things over the years. He may have learned from his mistakes. We are saying that for once, just maybe, our offense won't be so fricking predictable.

If Canada and Aranda move on to head coaching gigs elsewhere, what reason is there to believe Ed O couldn't hire another good coordinator to fill the spot? He hired Canada after all. If Canada turns out to be great, then you have to give Ed O some credit for finding him and bringing him to LSU. If he manages to find another good one after, then you have to think to yourself "maybe Ed O does know what he's doing after all".

Then again, Canada could be horrible. Ed O could turn out to be the worst hire in LSU history (though he'd have to be pretty abysmal to be worse than Hallman).

None of us know a damn thing about it yet but we will soon enough.

To be fair, Gene Stallings is the only one to have a record near as bad as Coach O in his first gig and win a national championship at another school. And he at least won a SWC title and Cotton Bowl one year.

O has a lot of history to overcome to prove the doubters wrong.
