That college data site is fascinating.
Arkansas is the least fratty and whitest in the SEC. That sounds about right.
Sorry, Ole Miss. Vandy is more fratty than you.

Bama, UGA, and Auburn are up there too...

Mississippi State is also surprisingly fratty.
Arkansas used to be very fratty in the 1980s and early 90s. The whole blue blazer and tie at ballgames ruled the student section when I was a wee lad.
Its very rare to see, now.

It's actually beginning to fade at OM now too. With rush being so late and people realizing that shorts and polos are much more comfortable in September and October. I'm a shorts and short sleeve guy myself, and I was in a frat. Those were the worst times I've had at OM, having to wear a suit to the game was too much when it was hot...

So Alabama isn't as superior as they think they are?
nope, they are just overall dumber, so they are much more selective of their morons.

Vandy has an acceptance rate around 20%, UF is around 35%, the last I saw of UGA it was around 50%. IMO, any school as large as UF and UGA with acceptance rates below 50% means that there are a lot of kids getting denied.

When looking at the school's admission standards, you have to look at the avg GPA and SAT/ACT of the incoming Fr. class. Alabama and Auburn both have the same minimum standards...something like an 18 ACT and a 2.0 GPA, but you won't find many, if any at all, being admitted with those numbers.
All the numbers being turned down could mean is that they have so many applying...they only accept a certain number in each semester, and they rank them by GPA and Test scores. You may technically qualify for admission and not be admitted.

So, looking at avg GPA and ACT scores, there's quite a large middle of the pack in the SEC.
Ark/AU/AL/LSU/KY/SC all kind of fit right there in the middle by those standards.
I didn't think Arkansas is all that difficult to get into, but they only accept 56% who apply, so its not extremely easy.
It appears that all SEC schools in this era are operating at record capacity so its not like they are just filling spaces to be filling spaces.

Ole Miss and State don't count in this discussion.
I think UCA might be harder to get into than Ole Miss. Its not their fault.
Its still kinda funny, though.

I figure all or most SEC schools about the same, except Vandy. Some difference based on population of the states etc. Bama is currently on a drive to increase enrollment. The majority of the kids not admitted qualify for admittance. I've known several with better than average academics and test scores not admitted to AU on their first try. There's just a lot more that qualify than they can make room for.

Unless, of course, you are a talented athlete. And that goes for all SEC schools.

Nope. Like I said earlier, it hasn't affected me negatively either. I will have my degree from UMC in 2 and a half years. Amazing for someone who went to such and "easy" school...
