Yea basically outside of Vandy a major employer is not going to give a frick about the difference between any of those other schools unless it is in a specialized undergrad program or something like law school at Bama.
This is not true at least for engineering. I had an interview last week in which the guy representing the company(a major company) said they dont even look at undergrads from LSU for their company because of their program.

Really?
I can name 6 or 7 that went to UT because they were turned down by Ole Miss.
Alabama is ranked higher than Tennessee and has been for about a decade now. If Alabama is 'easy' then a diploma from UT isn't worth the paper it's written on.

No you can't.
Out of all the public institutions of higher learning in the country, Alabama is ranked 14 spots higher than UT by a newspaper.
They're pretty comparable.

First, the scenario of someone being denied by Ole Miss but accepted by UT is a fallacy.
Secondly, you must be one dumb motherfricker if you know seven people who got rejected by Ole Miss.

You guys should be writing a letter to USNews and the other ranking services that have UT down around 100 to let them know that UT is actually the Harvard of Appalachia.
Tell them how wrong their rankings are.

I don't even remember applying to State. I just sent my app and it was like, "ok time to start getting ready for college in Starkville."
Thats how it was with me. I never knew there were people who were rejected or "didn't get accepted" at State or Ole Miss.

Alabama is not as easy to get into as it once was. While enrollment is above 30,000 now, acceptance rates are way down.

But yeah, the State of MS is probably the easiest to get into college. Thanks state gov't.
article from the other day......

The state College Board has reneged on a plan to increase admissions requirements for public universities, citing concerns over whether Mississippi high schools are offering the necessary courses.
Universities had planned to increase the number of required high school courses from 15.5 to 19.5 for high schoolers graduating in 2012.
Most of the additional requirements were advanced courses, such as calculus and physics, which leaders said would better prepare students for college.
During a meeting Thursday, the board adopted a new policy, with the increased standards listed as "recommended" courses. The required course list will stay as it is today.
"At first, it looks like we are lowering standards. I would never be in favor of that," Higher Education Commissioner Hank Bounds said. "There are districts that are too small to offer the courses."

Yea engineering is a little different, one of those specialized programs I was talking about. From what I hear, the big Atlanta firms hire out of GaTech and Auburn but will barely consider a Bama grad.

Don't worry about their ignorant, made-up, bullshite logic

What does it really matter. If you are smart, you can go to just about any SEC school. What you do after that is what counts. Some of us think of "higher learning" as going past undergrad...

Easiest SEC School To Get Into
i'm from Texas and looking to transfer to a school in the SEC (want to go to a football school, much more fun and never grew up liking aTm or UT) and i have a 3.0. right now i'm pre-law.
what schools IYO should i apply to? i've already been accepted into LSU FWIW
Take your pick You won't have any problem transfering in witha 3.0. Fla has some required classes that you already have to have completed though. For instance, I was a Chem E so they required that all Cal, Chem and Physics courses already be completed at JC or somewhere else. All the other schools I applied to would let you make up what ever freshman and sophmore coures you were missing.
